Update on the fight for my sleeve
YOLANDA240 replied to lamsunshine's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
WOW! Your dad sounds like a piece of work, honestly if I lived in your area I would drive you. This is very important for your health and you've worked so hard...I will pray your mom will be able to drive you to your appointment:thumbup1: -
I'm so excited my insurance company has approved me, I called them today because I could not wait for them to call me. My excitment was short lived after I called my surgeons coordinator with the news, she sound like she was upset that I called my insurance company (maybe because she said it would take 15 days for an answer) any way I ask she start my pre-op testing I have not received a call back with my appt. dates. I did not know you would be on a emotional roller coaster just trying to have the SURGERY. What will my life be like after my surgery????:confused1::svengo::crying:

Also, I have not told anyone at work that I'm having WLS surgery so I want return with a normal diet. Getting 2nd Psych eval again
YOLANDA240 replied to Kimmysil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can have your regular therpist write a letter on your behalf then give this to the surgeon's theripist, you have to disclose your meds. I live with depression and told the surgeon's therpist what meds I was taking. Also, I gave her a letter from my regular therpist along with the results from my one hour pysch. test I was only in her office for 15 mins. She reported that I was mentally stable for surgery. I hope this helps with your next visit :thumbup1: -
Please help my new friends
YOLANDA240 replied to cristinka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at a loss as well. If you were 180 with a 6 foot frame, you were already in the "normal" BMI range. Why would ANY surgeon do any type of weightloss surgery on you I'm curious.:thumbup1::confused1: -
Okay I trust my surgeon this is why I chose him, but God! It's been six months since starting this process, psych. visit, nutrionist and seeing my doctor every month. Just submitted my all documents to my insurance company today, while at the surgeons office I find out that he's complete booked the month of August and they will not schedule my surgery until my insurance is approved and I complete all my pre-op testing at this rate it will be October by the time I get my surgery. If I knew I had to wait three months after following the surgeons guidelines I would have paid out of pocket this is crazy. I'm so ready to start my journey, to get healthy and not wear my cpap ever again. Thanks for letting me vent, this process is driving my crazy and I used most my vacation time going to all these doctors appts.:laugh0::svengo:

YOLANDA240 replied to YOLANDA240's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks! Good Luck with Weight Watchers, writing down everything I eat and being honest about it helped me loss the 10lbs. The one thing I've learned going through this process is what causes my eating, I'm a grazer I don't eat alot of food at one time it,s small meals all day long WOW The next three months I will work on three meals a day with a snack, maybe waiting this long is a good thing...but if they gave me a date tomorrow I would take it...lol:001_rolleyes::thumbup: -
Thank you for the step by step:thumbup:

How long were you off work?
YOLANDA240 replied to TnT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Time off work is based on the individual, I plan on taking 5 weeks off from work one reason my company will pay me for it and the second reason is I would like to stay home and get use to the new stomach and eating habits that come with it. Hope this helps!:lol0: -
Back to work, 50 lbs lighter, and no one noticed! LOL
YOLANDA240 replied to Donna4545's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Donna, My friend and co-worker came back to work two weeks ago after her WLS surgery she has lost 33 lbs and she's wearing smaller clothes. No one said anything to her at all, but in the break room I heard comments like she totally cheated; you know she had that WLS she could not have done this on her own. When she ask me had I heard anything I told her you know how stupid people in our department can be she was really hoping they notice and said something about her weight loss as they did in the pass when she was on WW. Anyway to make a long story short, I told her she looked great and I can not wait to get a date for my surgery...soon I hope. Then I proceed to give the gossips a piece of mind, explaining how WLS is not the easy way out it's hard work something they would know nothing about. -
