Hi All- Colleen from Denver here, I was banded on Monday, Feb 5th. I am doing great!!! Feeling strong, soreness / pain is minimial... of course using my pain pills... However, I am having some major burping after I drink my liquds - Is this normal? Should I try not to burb? thanks, Colleen

Hi Travel Girl & Marissa!! I too was banded on Monday, Feb. 5th!! Nobody told me how to sleep... I LEARNED IMMEDIATELY, AND AM VERY HAPPY ... sleeping ON SITTING UP !! I know it sounds uncomfortable, but IT IS WONDERFUL!!! I use about 10 pillows total! and I just got a back rest too... I still have not laid down flat since I tried the night of sx. - it was soooo painful to lay flat!! Cannot believe nobody warned me about that!

Hi to my wonderful friends who have been so supportive to me thru this really challanging process! I will be a "BANSTER" tomorrow!! Yikes!! Surgery is at 7:30 A.M.- (which means to be there at 5:30!! DOUBLE YIKES!!) I am having my lap band with Dr. Snyder, in Denver at Rose Medical Center. The Clear liquids have been just fine for me the past 2 days. Yesterday, I had THE BIG SCARE... "BUYER'S REMORSE" !!! "What am I doing to my body?" "Shud I be doing this to my body?" "What if I cannot figure out the amount to "drink" and % of Protein etc... "Why, Why, Why, etc" I was really upset, could not talk about what I was feeling, etc... Then my dear friend, Krista, and I prayed that God would guide me in these next few days, and be there to give me strength and help me get through the "head trash"... .... .... THEN..I had some divine intervention... we went to GNC to buy my Vitamins and protein etc... and the manaer was a bit "over-bearing", but she had good intentions... I told her I was having lap band on Monday... and she IMMEDIATELY went on and on... about how she has this customer who had the lap band, and how excited she was for me, and what success she has heard from her customer... that lost 50 pounds in 4 months... etc... (this went on for about an hour!) Last night it helped too to talk with one of my mentors, who has been banded for 5 years, Flori... in the evening, she reminded me of the some of the reasons THAT I KNEW I WANT TO HAVE THE LAP BAND DONE... etc... Would love any of your input... your thoughts, etc... I'll try to post on Tuesday! I'm very excited now!! Love and thanks to all, ~ Colleen in Denver

I am not an everyday smoker, but was wondering if you guys have had any problems / complications related to having an occassional cig? I truly enjoy having an ultra ultra lite Cig (Capri) with my glass of wine in the evening.... I really need it now, that I am - 2 weeks pre-op. Help anyone ? THANKS! Hi, I am new here... 35 years old, live in Denver, have been re-searching LAPBAND only since July or August of THIS YEAR. So, needless to say, I am STILL really afraid of committing to this.... I need to do it though... fOR SOOO MANY REASONS1!! Soooo.... here are my scaredy-cats .... / issues.... 1.) Money - HAVE TO SELF PAY... credit is 545 not sure if i can get a loan or not?? 2.) my mom has the money, to LOAN me, but she is afraid she will need it becuz she is dying of diabetes.... etc.... 3.) Can I still live the fun single life... having drinks / wiine with friends, smoke a few ciggies with my martinis, going to lunch dinner with clients and friends... ?? 4.) When I look at some of the lap banders, I see people who have lost tons of wt. but I dont see people who are really hard bodies, is it "impossible" or too hard to get a fit / tight body ? When I had my LASIK eye surgery 14 years again, (before it was populaur) I was NOT scared AT all, cuz the alternative was worse for me... is this the same... thing??? But, I know it's not, I cant do anything anymore, and I am missing out on so much in life.... free tickets to the Broncos, Avalanceh, games, ... wont go, cuz the seats are too tight... ; Free Airline Tix, - wont go cuz the seat is too tight; Camping, Hiking --- cant go with my frenz cuz I cant breathe!!! .... I AM SO SCARED..... but i know it's wose to be scared of dying of obesity and diabetes like my mom is! :-( Anyway, I am all set, done everything... all pre-ops tests are good to goo... just need the $$$$. thank you, god bless all of you!
