The worst thing I experience was being 2 tight. I couldn't even drink water, but the crazy part was I didn't want 2 get an unfill bcuz I was losing so much weight. The other worst thing was the slow weight lost (so b patient). The best part is shopping in regular size clothing stores...good luck guys:-)

Just wondering if anyone experience this? When every I eat breads, pasta, or rice I get a really bad headache for about five minutes. It feels like a tension headache, like my whole forehead is spreading. I no I should stay away from them, but I still trying to break old habits. I mean I only eat a teaspoon full, and my body or (band) rejects it. I mean I don't mind because I know they are no good for me.

Hello forum, I had to get a small unfill, I went to the Dr. on 11/28 and I was up to 7cc. I liked the restriction and the results I was getting, however, I was having challenges drinking water. I lost 15lbs in less then 3 weeks. So, I call on Thursday and went in on Friday and the took .5 cc out bring me to 6.5cc. My nurse said that was too much weight to lose in that short period of time. I'm not going to lie I liked the food restriction and the weight lost, but I was so thirsty it was crazy, Anywho I'm hoping this small unfill don't make me start gaining the 15lbs back. I will be very mindful of what I eat and how much I eat. Thanks for letting me share,

Yes, it was instant relief. You have lost a nice amount of weight, but I've read a lot of stories of ppl getting a unfill and start gaining weight back. This was the most weight I lost since getting the band.

On 11/28 I had my seventh fill. I believe I hit my greenzone, however, my first week I couldn't keep anything down. So, I went back to the basic (clear liquids). In one week I lost 8lbs, which I think was water. Things was so rough, I was thinking about going to get unfilled. But I like the restrictions because I don't eat as much, but it was getting uncomfortable. Now in my second week thinks are a little better, first thing I must do is respect the band and if I'm full to stop eating (still trying to break bad habits). Now here is my ? When eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner I'm fine, but when it comes to drinking (water, juice, tea, or crystal lite I can only take very very very small sips) and that is after I wait 45-60 min after eating. I am so thirsty I suck on ice all day. Any input would be appreciated.

You will be fine, but you can't eat and drink at the sametime...

Increase your calories by 300-400 daily. You're not eating enough. I no how it feels to want to lose weight and the first thing we think is to cut back the calories. That is true, but not by that much. I think if you add more calories to your diet, you will see a difference. Hope this helps

I'm a little confused, and have a a couple of questions. 1. Should you only eat for 20 min. after 20 min. whatever is left trash it or save it for lunch the next day. (fact or myth) with that being said if I do that I don't get enough proteins or calorie for the day. However, I am full doing it that way. 2. I'm not getting enough water is it okay to substiute crystal light for water (fact of myth) I received my fifth fill on the 17th and I think I hit my green zone (YAY) , but I afraid if I'm not getting enough calories or protein I won't lose. I am satisfied after eating for 20 min. Let me give you an example of my menu for the day breakfast: two fried eggs`medium coffee, splenda and cream lunch: atkins shake dinner: boneless skinless chicken thigh, 1 cup of spinach, and a 1/2 boiled egg no snacks cause I'm still full only two cups of water The scale is not my friend so I decided to wait until I go to the Dr. to get on the scale.

Could someone, Please Explain to me what restriction is
Brina522 replied to juicylicious's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I thinks it's when ur full. I try timing myself and only eat for 20 min, and usually after 20min I'm full. But it's a different full, because before I got the band I could eat much more, which mean I ate all my food to the point I was stuff. Now I just eat until I'm satified not hungry and not stuff. By being restricted it requires for you to eat slowly and get full faster. Hopes this helps. -

I got banded May 2011, and this forum is great for me. Somethings I experienced I learned what they are from this forum. PB, sliming, food getting stuck, eating to fast etc. From the pain I was experiencing I need to slow down on my eating and chew more. From my experience my Dr. really don't know what I'm experience cause he never been banded, but the ppl on this forum have. However, I do agree with you if we are experience unusual pain please contact your Dr.

I'm going to be honest, I don't no if painful is the right word cause it really don't hurt, but the thought of sticking a needle in my stomach makes me nauses (spellcheck) and I am being honest. my Dr. feels around my insision (spellcheck) then when she locates the port she sticks the needle in....I'm a mess everytime I go. The first time I went my pressure was so high, and I don't have high blood pressure....but each time it gets better...I hope I don't scare you and everyone is different...I hope this helps
