    Sleeve and CPAP use

    I use my CPAP and have not experienced any issues. Have you talked to your sleep doc about your concerns? I too am looking forward to saying goodbye to my CPAP!!
  4. Just like MIni Me, I've had my thyroid meds reduced and am losing weight at a great pace. i noticed that my metabolism had slowed after the surgery but have addressed that with regular cardio exercise.

    Hello Ladies! Five days of consistent excercise. Today I plugged in my girlfriends from South Carolina and did some serious cardio and ab work. Keep going gals!

    Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

    Tonight is yoga and my instructor is a core fanatic!! This is a great one hour workout. Three days of consistently exercising--WHOO HOOO for me. : ) Thanks for your inspiration!!! P.S. I took the stairs from the parking garage today!!

    OK ladies- I exercised the past two mornings since joining the motivation train. It also helped that I bought myself some nice exercise clothes, which I couldn't fit into before my sleeve!! Who remembers the song "Chicken Fat"? It starts."Push ups every morning.."

    Jealous.....

    You should start feeling better soon. I couldn't sleep on my side comfortably for a couple of weeks. Also, have tried any relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation? Theae techniques can be very helpgul with healling and minimizing discomfort.

    Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

    I am in the same place. I had an excellent work out ethic, got sick and lost my routine and motivation. So I am definately in. Friday I bought myself some new workout gear so i am going to get myself out of bed, put it on and hit our exercise room. I try to stay focused on my reasons for exercising, like feeling and looking better, and the big one for me...keeping dibetes at bay which runs rampant on my father's side. Here's to a fresh start! Catherine
  13. Another first...To save myself I became a food pusher. Yikes!!

  14. For the first time in my life I lost weight over Thanksgiving. Believe me I am thankful. Now, what am I going to do withnall this turkeyy??

  15. Do it for yourself. I was sleeved in September, minor pain that lasted only a couple of days, no vomiting, no reflux. There will be times when you eat too fast or to much that you'll b be uncomfortable, but those are learning opportunities!! The best part is you will feel so much better such a short time. Perhaps you have good friend or family member who can also provide support? Is there a local support group you can attend? Ask your doc. Support can come from many diffeent sources-i took my Blackberry to the hospital so I could access this site right after surgery. I had a couple of "what have I done moments"right after surgery, but I don't regret my sleeve at all!!! Good luck Fit

    Considering VS and scared

    I was scared too...but I don't regret a thing. You' ll be able to eatnagain only much smaller portions...but believe me it is plenty. Plus after only a few weeks and several pounds gone I felt like a new person. Congratulations on your decision and good luck!

    Vitamin D3

    D3 is vital to your immune system, and yes you will feel MUCH better. Our bodies naturally produce D3 from sun exposure, I live near Seattle Washington and Washington has the highest rates of multiple scelrosis in yhe nation, which is directly linked D3 deficiency. I've taken it for awhile (even before surgery) and have niticed a boost in my energy and overall feel better.

  21. Three weeks out I was still tired...but was back at work and able to function. As for food, you'll be on liquids, so plan ahead and bring prepared protein drinks. How exciting for you- balancing two life changing events! Best of luck!! Fit

    How Long to take Off from Work?

    I took two weeks off on advice of my support group and Doc, and I was really glad did. It's not just the recovery, but also learning the schedule for drinking and eating. I didn't feel up to working until day 12. My first day back - i was done by 2:00p.m., but it progressively better.
  24. I'm down a total of 38 lbs since September 2, which is when I started the two week pre op diet!! I FEEL GREAT'!!!!!
  25. I love my surgeon, Dr. Nguyen at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue-plus I received excellent care- and I am doing great! Also there is a wonderful support group associated with the hospital and you are welcome to attend before surgery. It is an excellent way to talk to folks who had the surgery and hear first hand about thier experiences. check out weight loss surgery on Overlake's website-ther's a schedule for the support group if you are interested in attending. good luck
