Having the same feeling. I cant lay on my right side because I feel like the lower part of my stomach is being crimped in half like a garden hose. When i lay on my left side I feel like I am laying on a lump. Cant lay on my stomach. Its been getting better each day and I think it is just because we are still swollen. I was Banded March 23. Everyone says it will get better. Best of Luck to you!!!!!!!

I was banded on March 23rd and I still have pain in my stomach area. I also have pain in my armpit today and the doctor said it was still gas from the surgery. She said it could last at leat 2 weeks or more. Depends on the person. I started on my lowfat creamed soups yesterday and I am feeling great ( except for the side of my stomach and armpit.).Good luck to us all and keep in touch!!!!

I was just banded on Wednesday March 23rd and I am wondering if i can start my full liquids yet? My sheet says 1 to 2 days post op but the full liquids page says 1 to 2 weeks. Does that mean I am on full liquids for 2 to 3 weeks or wait until I see the doctor next week before I can start them. I am so confused. Can I get some advice!!!!!???

Thanks for the advice everyone. I started out my day with cream of wheat like my booklet said and I havent had any problems. So I guess I will follow the rest of the page and stick with this until my doctors visit on Thursday. Thanks again.

Thats Awesome! I was also banded on the 23rd. I woke up wilth not alot of pain but very sick to my stomach. Was given nausia meds and by the time I was home the sickness went away but the gas kicked in! I was misarable till about 4 oclock yesterday. Today I am feeling great wilth only some slight pain where my port is and in one of the incisions. It has a bruise the size of a small orange. I have gone down 18 pounds since I started my liquid diet 2 two weeks ago. I know you know how I feel today! Like its the begining of a new day and a new way of life!!!!!!! Good luck to you!

I am going in on Wednesday (3/23) morning and I am a little nervous. But I am also excited too!!! I started my preop liquid diet 2 weeks ago and have already lost 14 pounds. I know that I can do this and hopefully things will go good. Good Luck to you all and see you on the other side!!!!!

I only have 3 days left until I have my surgery and I have already lost 13 pounds. It really all depends on the diet and you. Not everyone looses alot before there surgery. My doctor said she has had people loose 3 pounds and then there are those who have lost 30. The diet is to help shrink your liver so its easier to handle during your surgery. I thought it was going to be hard but it was easy. Stay strong and good luck.

I as well had to wait 6 months to fill the insurance companies requirements. I used the time to read up on the procedure and prepaired myself for my "New Life"! I am currently on an all liquid diet and only 9 days away from my surgery. Dont give up. It may seem like a long time but the time will fly past. Keep a positive additude and good things will come your way.

Dont get discouraged. My insurance company made me do a weight management 6 month program before I could even get approved. It seems like it is going to take forever but it will fly by. Read up some more on the surgery and what will happen after the surgery. It will help you get prepaired. I am only 9 days away from getting my surgery done and I am getting everything ready and in place so I am prepaired. DONT GIVE UP!!!!!!!

I think it took my insurance company about 3 to 4 weeks to give me the thumbs up. I have heard about so many people going in for a consult and then getting approved in about a month. I had to jump thru hoops to for my insurance company for about a year before they said yes. I hope you hear from them soon. Good luck!

I am having my Lap Band surgery on March 23. I am on my two week liquid diet right now and have already lost 5 pounds. I am so excited to have this done. It took me a whole year to get the insurance company to approve me. I hope everyone who is getting this done has a wonderful experience.

Hi! Just joined the group today. Hoping I can find someone to talk to and share stories with. I am schedualed to have the Lap Band surgery on March 23. I had resurched the surgery for two years and its taken me a whole year to get approved by the insurance company, but I am finaly on my way!!!! I am on my liquid diet before my surgery and it is going suprizingly well. I am only really nervous about how to measure things out when I can actually have pureeed and solid foods. And how do you actually puree something? Dont you have to add liquid to it? I know that joining this group will help with these things. (at least I hope it does!) Have a great day!!
