About Me

Hello my new friends. My Sleeve surgery date is May 16th 2011. Yeah!

It has been a long road. I have been turn down 4 times 3 due to not a covered benefit on insurance plan and then in June of 2009 my husbands plan changed and it was a covered for the Lap Band. I did all the pre-op requirements that the insurance ask for. Then my husband was laid off in October 2009 and the Cobra insurance put a restriction on WLS. I was compleately devistated. I first had tried fot WSL in 2004.

I change jobs this November and my current employer covers all WLS. Yeah I have options! So I spent time talking to several of my co workers that had either the Lap Band, or Bypass. So after hearing about some or there complications and I had already meet Lap banders that gained there weight back or had to have it removed due to slipage.

I did my research I know the Sleeve was the best option for me. I had already jumped through all the hoops so I went and saw Dr. Steven Hamn in February my Letter of medical nesessity was sent on February 25th and I was approved for vertical Sleeve on March 7th.

I am looking forward to taking this jorney of getting my life back and eating to live and not living to eat!
