  1. I completely understand! That first meal of mushies was fantastic! I wanted, no CRAVED, refried beans, cheddar cheese, a tiny bit of salsa and two saltines. HEAVEN!!!! Though I have on the advice of my nut only had one mushy meal a day to work my stomach in slowly. So far it's worked great as I fill up so fast!
  2. congratulations! I am only 11 days post off and since surgery I've not taken any of my blood pressure medication or my diabetes medicine! That in itself makes this all worth it, though I look forward to loosing more weight have having all my joints feel better!

looking for Dr. in Washington DC area

You can also look into Bluepoint Surgical. Check out their web site because they have offices in Fairfax think and definitely Woodbridge. Dr Halmi and staff are wonderful! They are also a center of excellence or bariatrics. They have a support group meeting every month at the hosptials. I highly recommend them.

    The Vets Didn't Lie

That dreaded drain! After my surgery could not draw a deep breath because I would get a horrible stitch in my side and thought it was from the stitches and incisions. Day 2 they took out the drain - which to me was terribly painful but once it was done I could finally breath again! Now at 11 days post op I have no real pain to speak of unless I swallow to much air and oddly enough when I go to bed at night. I'm a side sleeper and that seems to pull on my insides as they shift but a little bit of pain meds and I can sleep past that. Love all the tips and tricks I've learned lurking on here! Keep them coming

    Need to belch

The surgical nurse co-ordinator at the hospital told all those pending surgery the next week to go get some Gas-X strips. They disolve on your tongue like a strip of mint and do wonders! My husband bless his heart bought me three boxes for my trip home and they have been a blessing! Lots of burping and well ya know ... Simple and fairly quick too! I'm 5 days out and it's nearly all gone thankfully!

    March Role Call!!

Congrats on your sleeve! I was sleeved on 3/9 myself. Other than having a hard time coming out of the anesthesa (which is normal for me) I've been really lucky. No nausea as of yet! No problems taking my Lortab either. Mostly I've lots of gas. I'm excited about my new life and the new healthier me that shall emerge!

    Less then 24 hours!!!!

I I'm schedule for 830am tomorrow myself! I'm starting to get all jittery! Happy and scared all rolled into one! This is my first post too! I'm dying for a 'last meal' of mostly protein to say goodbye to certain things for a while. I've been on a liquid diet since last Wed as directed and done really well. Do you think this will cause a problem with my surgery?
