    What Peeves you?

I don't like to see people drive down the street with their blinker on. I'm I the only one that looks at my speedometer. Surely they can see the light blinking?

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hello everyone: Just thought I'd share something with everyone. I needed some hangers - and my first thought was to go to walmart and buy some. But I looked in my closet and saw all my jeans hanging that I wasn't wearing. So I cleared my bed and started taking them down. I put them in order by size. DH walks in and asked me what I was doing. I started to tell him. He asked what size are those, I sighed and said 6's - he said what size are those - pointing at the stack on the end - I said 16/18. I put them in order (from biggest to smallest) and put them in a container - After I get banded - as I start to loose weight - I will go to the container and just pull out the next lowest size and get rid of the ones I can't wear. Stay encouraged you guys/gals. BTW - Insurance has paperwork and I'm just pending approval now. Pray for me!!

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Audree: They have the ipod shuffle. It is really small and it is reasonable. I saw it during Xmas, but my daughter changed her mind about getting it. I actually use my PDA to listen to music. I put a lot of fast songs w/ upbeats so that I would get in to the groove. Just as if I was dancing to the music. I walked 1 day 2miles. It felt really good. The reason it was 2 miles because I started out good walking at a nice pace, music good. When I got to the 1 mile mark I was so tired. The only thing is I had to keep going - I had to walk back home...TO MY CAR. You know once you get out there you have to come back. Boy was I tired!! I haven't walked since. I'm hoping the weight will relieve my knee pains. Keep up the good work. I'm going to look into the gym thing. I like to swim and I loved sitting in the sauna.

    Workout Dvds anyone?

Susannah: Thanks for the complement. Walk away the pounds is a great starter workout. I really did like it. It also gave you a visual at the bottom to show you how long you had worked out. If I had to choose - Walk a way the pounds would be my first.
  5. lanajane: I've read where people have gone back to get a fill and they had lost some solution. Someone said it evaporates ?? I'm not sure. Did you question the doctor? Also I am still pending bandism. I am waiting on insurance, so I will continue to keep up with you guys and jump in as soon as I can. Keep up the good work!
  6. JPT Read about your problem. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad also that this information came out in the open before you tried to have it done and you woke up empty handed. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Audree, Glad solids are working for you. I'm glad that we are able to eat "normal" food. I am so tired of dieting and then falling off because I want to eat something that is not in a package. I'm looking forward to being banded. Did everyone dance. We had a great time. We cleaned and danced around the house. Good thing we're not on one of the reality TV shows!!! My kids give me great joy - sometimes I just hate that I don't have the endurance they do. They are going skating next weekend and they have a Superbowl birthday party to go to (They are (g)10/(g)8/(b)8). I hope once I'm banded I can get out there and skate with them, without having pains in my knees and running out of breath. Keep up the good work all. Have a great evening.

    Optifast Question

Hi Marissa424 I'm not banded yet (still pending insurance) but I did find a site for optifast (www.optifast.com). You can put in your zip or area code and find a clinic near you and find out about the optifast information. Good Luck.

    Workout Dvds anyone?

I had the walk away the pounds - I liked it. I let my sister in law use it and it has never made it's way back. I have a treadmill also - right now it is a clothes catcher/hanger - hopefully it will be cleared off and used.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Did you give yourself any goals? I made mine up at the bottom of my signature. I also want to make me some motivational sayings to put near my treadmill so while I'm walking I can focus - read them, look at old pictures of me, etc. I'm going to make this work - I want her so bad - they just have to approve me, I would be a great mother to her (Brittany the band).

    Seasonings

So are you saying you just put the above ingredients together and have been using it to season your food?

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Serious: I was told the same thing. When I went to my consult on Thursday - He said I could lose 50-60 pounds in about 6 months, then just maintain it. WOW, I can't wait for the band.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Like I posted before this is lapband school. I am taking notes like crazy. I hope to be banded soon. I can't wait. You guys are so supportive. Keep up the good work. Madden: Glad your back!

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

That is great. I'm glad you liked my suggestion. I'm sure that is a motivator just knowing that the scale shows you 15 pounds less. Of course it may fluctuate but I know if I lost 15 pounds I would probably park in the back of the parking lot and walk & smile all the way to my office. You make me want to dance. Ok I am designating Saturday as "Dance Like there's no one watching" Day. Turn on some music and for 10 min or more dance like there's no one watching - my kids love it. We sometimes go longer. My husband sometimes even join in. It's just a way to burn calories, have fun and let your kids or family know that "I am FUN" Have FUN everyone this weekend.

  17. I had to set myself some mini-rewards also - you will see them below in my signature. I like the fact of having a Big Reward at the end - however if I don't have some reward droppings to lead me to the end I'm afraid I may get side tracked - so I set mini-rewards and then the BIG ONE:scared: . After I reach goal - I will set it as my anniversary - Every year at that time if I've maintained (As I should have) then I will do something big again. Good Luck All.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

I understand but as long as the scale shows a decrease and not an increase, that is what matters. I'm kindof like you but I don't mind weighing. As stated in a previous post - I have a dress that I'm going to take a picture in before surgery and every week I'm going to put it on and take a picture to see how it fits. It's not always about the pounds in some cases it how your clothes fit. There are people at my job, I know they are heavier than me but they wear a size 12/14. I wear a size 16/18. It's crazy. Maybe there's a pair of jeans you can try on and see how they fit and measure by them. Just keep up the good work and I will be patient. When you are ready to come out of your cacoon we will be here, little butterfly.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

You have all of us on pins and needles in this Thread. I have followed you from your 1st post op day. I want to know something please. Are you wearing the same clothes - do they fit different - get on that scale - pull out a measuring tape or something - I want to know!!! Thank you, That will be all.
  20. Well I went to my consultation today and they were great. My appointment was @ 11:30. I arrived a littler early - signed in and paid co pay. She advised me to grab a clipboard and fill out forms - lucky me I had snag some when I went to the seminar last Saturday - so I showed her that I had already filled them out. She said great come on back - I was in and out in no time - I liked Dr. Speigel - Now I'm just waiting to see if insurance will cover. She said 10-14 days.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

I'm so excited for you that I wrote it on my calendar - I don't know if you should try to eat right or try to eat what you can??? I'm so on the fence. I know I will be restricted with what I can eat, so I've been eating different things that I know I won't be able to eat later. But when I'm not hungry but that voice in my head says "I'm hungry feed me Veronica" - I grab a Soup @ Hand or more water. Did anyone else have this problem? Q: What did you do the week before surgery? Did you eat all you could or did you try to eat correct?:hungry:
  22. OH I will keep you updated. Yeah - My insurance company does pay but I don't know if they will approve it. I dont know what the BMI has to be to get the approval. If they don't then I will become a self-pay.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Well I just got my call about my consultation. Just called to confirm time and co-pay. I haven't been told to eat or do anything different yet that is why I said I'm in the PRE-Pre OP. I think once insurance gets approved then I may be told to liquid or something. I don't know. I'm just ready-My husband is ready, he said all you do is talk about that band - I'll be glad when you get it. He is very supportive though, just a comedian. He called and said to get dressed we're going to lunch. So when he got here I was hiding the computer needless to say I wasn't dressed. He layed across the bed and I was getting dressed. I looked at him and asked "Baby got Back" while trying to stick out my butt (although there is really on curve there). He looks and shakes his head no with a smile. I pulled my butt in and stuck out my back, and asked same thing and again he smiled and said shook his head yes. Some women would be mad, but I wasn't I love my husband honesty - because in a couple of months when I loose some of this weight and ask the same question he's going to say yes first then no to the same questions!!! I want my band. I want my band. I want my band. I want my band.
  24. JPT just got call from nurse w/ Dr. Speigel's office. Called to confirm appt @ 11:30 (I will be there for 11), co-pay of $20, and that I will be seen before the seminar since I've already went to the seminar. Went I signed up online for the seminar I assumed it was for seminar and then if you wanted to have a consultation you sign up and do it then. I guess Ishould have called and asked!! So when I got there I couldn't do the consultation because they were full, bad on my part but my fault. But, I'm also 1 step ahead because as I was leaving I took a set of paperwork off the clipboard so I could have it filled out before I went back. I will be online later - and I will post after my consultation. BTW - Will you be selfpay or Insurance? I have United Healthcare Plus. Most of the people at my job have been approved. So hopefully I will be insurance. Have you checked out some of the other Threads?
  25. JPT I will keep you posted. And yes if I was you I would go to Dr. Spivak also. They both seem to have great skills. Are you close to Deerbrook mall? We are trying to start a lapband mall walking group.
