Concerned - should I be?
MINI-Me replied to MINI-Me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor used a 36 ... however, I don't think there's much difference in a 32 and 36. Tiff posted a visual out here a few weeks ago that I'm sure you could find in the search mode. -

Hopefully someone will respond soon. Keep us posted on your progress and your surgeon's advice. -

I am not having any of these issues. In fact, since I'm just on purees, I am concerned about restriction and if there will be enough. Bella is right, you should contact your surgeon - 1 teaspoon isn't good! -
Yoplait now makes Greek yogurt

I just discovered this too. I can only eat about 1/2 of a container (if that) at a time so it lasts 2 meals! I was surprised at how good it tastes with such low carbohydrates. YUMMY!!!! :001_unsure: -
The experiences with being cold is very odd to me. LuvMeBunches and I were warm - we kept the thermstat very low. I guess we're just a "little different".

Is anyone on antidepressant medication since the surgery?
MINI-Me replied to LAN2k's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lan - I somehow missed this post yesterday. I am so happy and relieved for you. Prayers have been going up and it looks like help has come down. As Tiff said, "Praise Jesus". -
My doctor doesn't want me to snack either, but says that I can "occaisionally" on high-protein only snacks. My nut, doesn't think 3 meals a day is really possible since we eat so little at a meal. I'm not to the "regular food" stage yet, so I don't know how I'm going to react. But, if I decide to have a snack of protein, I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I got the sleeve to eat (and look) like a thin person. Real people snack sometimes ...

I keep hearing people talk about sipping and taking a long time to get in their liquids. While I'm not chugging a 16 oz glass of Water, I can get it down pretty quickly. Maybe in like 15-20 minutes if I really try. I'm grateful for not having the pain, but wonder if that's going to be bad for me in the future. I did have pureed chili the other night - boy, the restriction was unbelievable. 2 oz in ~30 minutes. It felt like I had just finished Thanksgiving dinner with second helpings!!! -
I am now 4 days post op!!

Congrats on your surgery and your awesome recovery. I can also take my pills without having to crush (2 I do split). -
Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far - way to go!!!! As far as clothes, we all need things to wear and I've found that looking dumpy in big clothes doesn't motivate me very much. I talked to a girl who had the sleeve done 8 months ago. She said that she purchased mix and match items (pants, skirts, blouses that can be worn with either) in the next size down & then changed up her outfits from there. Another good option is a thrift store. You can find some unbelievable deals. Happy Shopping!

You guys are right, it is a lot better this morning. -
Someone please help

I had the same experience, but on the right side. I actually screamed out a couple of times when I tried to get out of bed. Sorry that you are experiencing it, but it does pass. Try pressing a pillow to your stomach when you get up or need to move - it helped me a lot. Were you given any pain meds? Don't be afraid to use them. Feel better soon. -

Thanks Tiff! I know I am paranoid! -
My nut recommended string cheese, peanut butter & 1/2 apple (later, not at the beginning), or to keep protein powder with me that mixes with water.
-
Great suggestions guys ... I'll try some "cool" tea today.

What I can tell is my experience. I thought Dr. Umbach was top notch as a surgeon and I would definitely use him or recommend him. If anyone wants specific information, please feel free to PM me.

Fabulous!!!!

I swear, I can't take one more drop of Protein shakes. I've tried mixing them with little liquid, lots of liquid, different brands. I can't find anything that I like. I'm trying to drink nectar strawberry Kiwi right now & just opening it to drink is making me gag. I'm allowed to start purees tomorrow. Any suggestions for high protein that does not involve Protein powder??? :thumbup1:

I can have pinto beans/refried beans as long as they are pureed and applesauce consistency.

Thank you. I really needed to hear that.
