If he likes then he better put a ring on it...
MINI-Me replied to wannalise's topic in The Gals' Room
I don't have much advice - I married my husband after 5 dates. But, if you are talking about marriage, then I would just outright ask him what's the situation. Sorry you are so frustrated. I would be too. -
Beginning to eat solids (suggestions?)
MINI-Me replied to pastorgregumc's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Some of my "softer" solids have been tuna fish salad, chili (heavy on ground beef and bean), and meatloaf. Tiffycans has a great high protein meatloaf recipe out here. -
I'm just saying ... :scared0:

When I see "DH", I normally think Dear Husband. But, depending on the day & what he's done, it can also refer to Dumb Husband :001_tt2: :001_tt2: :biggrin0: :001_tt2:.

I did It !!!! I did it !!!!!
MINI-Me replied to Thinmint's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your surgery. Dr. U was my doctor as well - I really liked him! Keep up the great work! -
Congratulations. I am just over a month out now. I haven't had any true hunger yet (head hunger - yes, real hunger no). The burping and discomfort will definitely come to an end. Each day gets better and better. The only thing I have left is tiring easily. But, even that is getting better. Keep us informed of your progress.

Thanks ... I want to look HOT getting out of my little car. :scared0:

Band to Sleeve 3-18 Lots of ?'s Help!!
MINI-Me replied to lovemyhorseys's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a vetran at 1 month out, but I think I can answer some of your questions: #1) Do any of you regret the sleeve surgery or wish you had done something different. (ie RNY) Absolutely not. I am very happy with my restriction and my results thus far. I specifically picked this surgery due to the fact that I will be able to eat what I want, just in MUCH smaller quantities. #2) I only have about 60-70 pounds to lose. When you reach your goal weight how do you and your body know it's time to stop losing? What do you do differently? From what I've been told, people up their calories a bit and start adding more carbohydrates to their diet. #3) I have a 1 year old and a 3 y/o. I would really like to be able to take 3 or 4 bites of birthday cake with them once or twice a year. (This is why I did not want a RNY. No dumping) Can you do this without a problem on a special occasions? Not during your healing period, but definitely after that time. #4) I have had a lot of problems with food poisoning and stomach virus's and other lovely things my kids bring my way. This has been agony trying to puke your guts out with the band in place. Is it the same with the sleeve, or just back to normal puking? I have only had one episde of vomiting since my sleeve. At first I thought I was having a reaction to my food choice (cod), but later learned that I had a touch of a stomach bug that is going around. I must admit that it was strange - only a small amount came up since only a small amount went down. #5) Speaking of puking. I have had nothing but trouble trying to eat with the band without drinking anything at all. Either drink with food or have it in my throat. Is this any different with the sleeve or do you feel tummy full not in your throat full? It's very hard to explain, you just get this feeling that you've had enough. Having too much for me means pain between my shoulder blades. #6) We travel in Europe every year. Has anyone had trouble finding "easy" food to eat in other countries? No experience with this - sorry. #7) Since I have 2 very young kids, I will only have my husband to help me for 4 days after my surgery. Should I start planning my nervous breakdown now? Maybe not a nervous breakdown, but you will need a plan for lifting them while you are healing. You should be feeling much more like yourself by day 5. Best of luck. Always feel free to ask questions. We were all researching at one point as well. -
Sorry I missed you guys. Just got home & logged on. If anyone still wants to chat, I will leave the window open for a while.

Thanks everyone. I still am in a bit of shock - no wonder my clothes are so big. The pessimist in me still keeps wondering if I really measured right the first time. I know I did today, cause I took the measurements like 10 times!

I'm in the Seattle area too. Best of luck with your seminar - ask lots of questions! Keep us up to date on your progress and when you have a surgery date. -
Cool - looks like they carry it at the grocery store where my don works. I will have him get me some. Thanks!

I have not heard of him, but I'm sure someone on this board has. Good luck with your surgery. Keep us posted on your progress.

MINI-Me replied to ryansgirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah!!!!! So glad the scale was the bad guy this time. Poor BF, I bet he's not sure what to do. Make sure to play it up - maybe you'll get flowers! -
I traveled out of state for my surgery. It wasn't bad at all. Don't lose hope - I am sure you can work something out. Let us know what you learn about their requirements. We have some pretty smart cookies here - I bet we can come up with some options for you.

Am I Getting Enough Calories Post-OP?
MINI-Me replied to FreeToBeMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pennie - I can't believe you were told not to eat if you weren't hungry. Very few of us are hungry post-op. I was told to get in all my liquids and my Protein by 3 weeks out. I had to set a schedule and watch the clock for eating. Do you have a nutritionist you can talk to? If not, call your surgeon. 300 is waaayyyy to low in my opinion. -
Isn't it great?!?!?!?!? ... I had the same experience last night. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Congratulations!

Nice job using that new tummy! -
So, I had cod tonight at a restaurant with friends. It seemed to be going down really well, but I still made sure to eat it slowly. About 25 minutes into the meal, I started slimming terribly. I excused myself and went to the restroom. Then, I had a short bout of vomiting. Within 10 minutes I was fine. I was so upset. What happened????
