I have found myself to be a bit more moody myself. I have put it on the fact that I can't eat food to compensate for issues that I normally would have buried in a bowl of ice ceam. Would that be a possible reason for you?

Introducing new foods too fast??
MINI-Me replied to pnw218's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My diet was a little more "progressed" than some of the other diets, but I can share what I did: Day 1 -2: Clear Liquids Day 2-7: Full Liquids Day 7-14: Mushies/Purees Day 15-30: Soft Foods (seems like you are somewhat in here, but the roast beef may be a bit advanced if it is stringy.) Day 31+: Regular Foods (chicken, raw veggies, and steak introduced last) -
It looks like you've been doing very well. How much (if any) of your 47 pound loss was pre-surgery?

We are looking forward to you joining us on the Loser's Bench.

I was self-pay through Medical Tourism with doctor in the USA. Quoted $10,900 for surgery, inpatient stay (1 night in hospital), hotel for my stay, 2 doctor appointments, and phone follow-up visits. My insurance covered preop labs and pysch. I have a free support group that meets monthly. (Note - I did opt for surgical center which saved some $ and I was much more comfortable. I know some don't agree with o/p for this procedure, but it worked really well for me.)

You could get one of the Clubmans or the new Countryman. I have the Clubman as well and LOVE IT!

Kinda fits my car ... it's only 10 feet long and 4 feet across!

I am looking forward to a healthy relationship with food and drinks. While I know it's much too soon to start investigating, I do want to be able to have a glass every now and then. Just like I'd like to have a (partial) burger every now and then. Know what I mean?

Yes - and for once I like doing the addition. It's great when you are adding up how much you've LOST!

You are doing great. Congratulations!

Thank you for sharing your faith. I think it is wise to research and that both of you feel comfortable with decisions regarding your life together. If we can help with that research, let us know. -

How many carbs are you eating per day
MINI-Me replied to filodough's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have spent A LOT of money trying to find a liquid Protein source that I can tolerate. :welcome: I put several posts out here about my terrible gag reflux when drinking almost any Protein Drink. I finally found unjury chicken Flavored Soup. 90 calories, 1g carb, and 21g of protein. It mixes with water so you don't have the added calories and carbs that you do with milk. Some people say that it's a little salty, but I haven't had that experience. You can buy it on Amazon or directly through the company. Through the company, you can purchase sample packs before investing in a whole container. You can also go on a scheduled shipping list & save 15% (you can call in your order to get that discount on your first delivery). -
I know several people with the sleeve. They can drink Diet Coke, beer, etc after 4-6 months. Not very fast mind you, but they can drink it. (My one friend likes it best when mixed with Rum!)

If he likes then he better put a ring on it...

How are you feeling???
MINI-Me replied to pastorgregumc's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am just behind you on the timeline. I can honestly say I feel fine, pretty much like my old self. However, I do tire out VERY easily. I had hoped to start an exercise routine by now, but I am so pooped out by the time I get home. It's all I can do to get supper on the table, pack lunches, clean up, and then go sit in the recliner for a while. I'm also still trying to get my head around eating so little. I'm not hungry, but I really have to focus on measuring things out & tracking to make sure I get enough Protein (and don't overload my plate & causing myself to get sick). Hope that helps. I will be interested in reading other responses. -
Wow! 3/12 is just around the corner. How exciting for you. Welcome to the group! I know that pre and post-op, this site has been amazing for information gathering and support.

Thought I was off my month long plateau- turns out I am not!
MINI-Me replied to filodough's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted to cry with you. I am so sorry. I really don't know what to say - this is a MAJOR bummer. Do you have a nutritionist that you can talk to? It sounds like you are doing all the right things, there must be a trigger that will help you get past this plateau. I am definitely sending you cyber hugs right now. Just try to keep your head up and keep following your plan. The weight HAS to come off. -
looking into VSG...

Welcome to both of you. You are going to find the sleeve to be an amazing tool. -
Since you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, it is probably a good idea to get a CPAP machine - I know they've done wonders for my dad and brother. But, look into renting since with weightloss your dependency on it should drop. Best of luck!

I think the majority of us have a "Last Supper" mentality. It's our last hoorah for eating anything and everything we want. I did mine New Year's Weekend so I definitely put away some calories - both in food and beverage. Life after the sleeve is sooooo different. I keep telling my husband that it's too much work to eat. I never thought I'd say that! But, I plan my meals out to make sure I get in my Protein (use myfitnesspal.com) and stick to a schedule to get all the food down each day. You can do this! Welcome to the Loser's Bench.
