    Dehydrated?

Gosh! I'm sorry you are going through this. Maybe your first step should be to call Nina (I think she is the coordinator for Dr. Aceves). Maybe the doctor can provide some advice, calm your nerves, or direct you to care. Let us know how you are doing.
  2. Good for you! You fell off the wagon, had a good lecture, and you are back on the horse. (We could all lecture you, but it sounds like you've learned your lesson.) So for now ... Sip, sip, sip! :lol0:

    Today I heard something

What a great day! I can't wait to hear those same things - only a few comment. But, my husband is my biggest cheerleader & that is encouraging. AWESOME for you!

    Leak?

I am not a doctor, but I would think the discomfort is from the swelling and your body healing. My surgeon said the 2 most obvious signs of a leak were high heart rate and fever. I was told to call immediately if I had those symptoms. If it would make you feel better, call your surgeon and discuss your symptoms. It never hurts to check.
  6. From what I was told, the Citrate is more easily absorbed by the body than the other. Carbonate won't hurt, but you might not absorb all that you need. Tums should be fine - just be sure to chew them really well before swallowing.

    Getting Scared

It WILL be different! Everyone one of us chose this surgery because we can't do it alone. The sleeve is an awesome tool. It gives you the restriction and you choose what you feed it. Make the right choices (95% of the time - no one is perfect) and your body will respond. I know it's hard to believe .. but you will succeed. And, when you have a rough day, just call on us to help you through. You are just getting started on getting healthy and learning to take care of you. Best of luck!

    OK Protein Users...

You could put 20 people in a room, give them 20 options & you would probably get 20 different answers. People are soooooo different in their taste. I love Any whey (from Amazon), but I've also heard that the unjury Unflavored is really good. GNC also sells an unflavored that others have used. Good luck!

    Spring cleaning and fear

You are not nuts. You are stuck in the mindset of "I've lost before and gained it back". That's what has happened most of our lives. But, this time it's different. You are NEVER going to need those clothes again. So go ahead ... donate those nice clothes (& get your tax receipt). Know that you are giving someone else a chance to look nice while you are working on making yourself a healthier individual. You go girl!

    Just one pound...

Awesome post! Thank you for putting things into perspective.
  16. With putting protein first, I'm getting in very little vegetables. I am doing fine. Make sure that you follow your surgeon's advice on supplements - that will help make sure you are up on all your nutritional needs. Best of luck on your surgery!
  17. That is AWESOME! I need details!!!! Tell me what options. Do you have a picture??? How exciting? I can't believe you are typing. Why aren't you out driving? :)

    Wanting to eat more?

Yep! The scales can be stubborn. I haven't hit a true stall yet, but the drops aren't as impressive as they first were. I've increased portions per time a bit and that has seemed to help with the head hunger. I'm sticking to around 800 calories (+/- 50 calories). I think we each have to figure out what works for us & when we hit a wall come out here & look for new ideas. Thanks for everyone's comments - they really do help.
  19. So, I have been very good the past few weeks staying in the 600-800 calorie range, but it's been creeping up to closer to 800 the past week. First quesiton - should I be worried? I'm having difficulty distinguishing between head and stomach hunger. I'm not craving things that are bad for me, just a little more of what I should/can be eating. I reached for 1 mini pretzel last night & my husband pointed out "Are you snacking?" Don't come down on him, I have specifically asked him to help me stay on track. But, I'm wondering, would one pretzel be ok every once in a while. It totally took care of my "urge" and I didn't want any more. Am I heading down a slippery slope if I do this? At 7 weeks out, how much were you typically eating at one sitting? 2 ounces, 3 ounces, 4 ounces, etc?
  20. OK ... When I look at my stats, I think I've done really well. In Vegas last week, I was feeling pretty good about myself. 31 pounds in 2 months & wearing 12/14 clothes. Well, today I took my measurements. I only lost 4 inches in the past month. I've also only lost 1.5 pounds in 12 days. And, to make matters worse, I saw the vacation pictures - I still look HUGE. Part of me knows that I am much better off than I was on 1/27/10, but the other part of me is feeling down. I am working so hard - why can't I be a big loser??? I am so tired of being fat. I don't know what I want someone to say. Just needed to vent. I'm not giving up (I can't anyway - my stomach is too small to binge eat). Just wanted a friend (or friends) who would understand.

    Seattle, Washington anyone?

I live north of Seattle. There is a great support group that meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Stevens hospital. PM me if you want more information.

Thank so much for your post.

    What a big step taken!

Viola - Don't forget to take your measurements too. The weight may slow down (dreaded stall), but measurements help to show how your body is changing. GREAT WORK!
