The advice about is very good. It takes time. Many people slow down around week 3 as their bodies are adjusting to losing the weight. Did you take measurements pre-surgery? If so, take them again and compare. If not, do it right now. You will be amazed at the difference you'll see in a few weeks from now. Saying that we've all been there, did that doesn't help a lot right now ... but believe me, we've been EXACTLY where you are right now in some form or fashion. You will make your goals if you follow the plan your surgeon made for YOU! Best of luck! -
There are days that I can work myself into a tizzy about all this stuff - should I eat this or that, is this "bad" ... we are all at a new point in our journey. Our bodies have healed and we are learning new eating patterns to last us a lifetime. We need to give ourselves a break and realize that we are learning. If we mess up one day - who cares? We have tomorrow. Thanks to our new tummies, we have a tool that won't allow us to go back to binging and "throwing" out the diet plan. Just because I failed a quiz in school didn't mean that I had to fail the whole class. Right? (OK - now remind me of this post when I have one of my freak-out days!)

Just put it in my queue. Thanks!

What was your down time?
MINI-Me replied to sphilip23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was out of the office for 1 full week. Then, I returned for 1.5 weeks of 1/2 days. That was a tremendous help - you get really tired due to the lack of calories and such. I truly felt like myself at about a month out - no need for a nap after work, etc. Like you said, everyone is a little different. But 2 weeks or so should really do the trick. If you have to go back earlier, you can do it. Just be prepared for the low energy & don't plan a lot of after work activities. -
Since I haven't taken any more of the medicine, the effects seem to have worn off - very weird few days though.

I <3 the Thrift Store
MINI-Me replied to aprilbell77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thrift stores have some awesome deals and if you look hard, some really high end items. It's great for dropping sizes quickly. -
Thanks Jane ... I'm sporting one of those pair today at work. Feels great! 7 pounds to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
In the Thrift Store dressing room. I fit into size 8 dress pants. Not just one pair ... but several. I could not believe it. The last (and only) time I wore a 8 was a brief moment MANY year ago when I was 17 (when I had just lost 63 pounds). I was a lot smaller then (126 pounds) compared to my ~143 pounds now, but I'm not going to even think about size differences over the years. I am just going to enjoy this. The point is ... I BOUGHT SIZE 8 PANTS AND THEY FIT ME!!!! Who would have thunk it? :001_smile: :thumbup1: :001_rolleyes: :001_smile: :thumbup1: :001_rolleyes: :001_smile: :thumbup1: :001_rolleyes: :001_smile: :thumbup1: :001_rolleyes: :001_smile:

oooookaaayyyy here we gooooo!!!!
MINI-Me replied to Mi-Mi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First, take 10 deep breaths... Then, change that thinking! They are removing up to 85% of your stomach. That is an awesome thing. You are going to learn to eat like a thin person. Heck! You are going TO BE a thin person. You will still go out with your friends. You will still be you. You will just be a much thinner and healthier version of you!!!!!!!!!!! We all know the emotions that you are going through. But, if you read the posts about "Would you do it again", it's like 99.9% YES. Those are great stats. Can't wait to hear from you once you are a LOSER!!!!!! (Note - if this doesn't work, go back to the top & repeat the steps until you remember that you've done your research, you know this is for you, and you are calm once again! :confused1:) -
UHC has approved my VSG
MINI-Me replied to YOLANDA240's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Believe me ... the emotional roller coaster is just beginning. But, it's only a blip in time ... soon you will be sleeved and watching the pounds drop off like crazy! Congrats on your approval. (P.S. - I love your avatar!) -
Maybe you can start a new fashion trend! :confused1:
-
Glad to have you join the "Losers". We are a great group and welcome you!
-
Awesome job!!! Hope to be joining you at goal (or below!) very soon!

Sorry to hear that Anna. Just remember, the hair loss is temporary. The weightloss is FOREVER!!!! Maybe it's time to make an appointment with a fancy hairstylist that can give you a new look for the new body & help camoflouge the area for now. Spoil yourself rotten!
-
Glad you are doing better. I remember that first month - boy, was it tough! Emotions ran all over the place. You are healing & your body is reacting. It will get better. Press on & lean on us for support.
-
I wonder if that is what helped me??? Both of us live in the Pacific Northwest where sunshine can be hard to find. I was put on Vitamin D and looking back, my sugar cravings have decreased. Hmmmmmm
-
Welcome ... and second Eureka-C. What do you want to know?
-
Sounds like you are well on your way to being a success at this. Congrats!

Tummy Stretching? Opinions!
MINI-Me replied to NtvTxn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can't say it's "Hunger" as in the old definition, but definitely know when I need to eat. I get an "empty" sort of feeling - hard to explain. Head hunger has definitely come back with summer - schedules are off, invitations to bbqs, and tons of sweets seem to be wherever I am. But, working through that. We CAN do this!!!!
