  1. Well, I have my date, March 15, 2011 at Lenox Hill in NYC with Dr. Yatco. I have already lost nearly 25 pounds in the last several months....I'm down to 425...my all-time high was 455 last October 2010. I am having the sleeve and I am hoping this is the best option for me. From what I have been reading on here, it certainly seems like it. I have lost and regained over 500 pounds in my lifetime. I have tried it all but managed to gain it all back (and more) from diets like Nutri-System, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc. I am hoping that the Sleeve is going to give me the shot in the arm to allow me to lose the 200 pounds I need to finally reach my goal. I have 2 weeks to go to surgery and I would appreciate any advice you may have for me!! I am trying to limit myself to about 1,800 a day. I want to lose an additional 10 pounds by March 15. I am also walking 3.5 miles a day on my treadmill. Best of luck to all and keep the faith!! Best, Chris.
  2. I have to say, I had my surgery on March 15....and I have lost nearly 180 pounds already. How do I do it? I'm never hungry, hardly get more than 1,000 calories in per day. I work out 4-5x a week....oh yeah, that's important. Found a hobby, like boxing that I love....and I have to say, it has been an amazing ride. I can actually FEEL muscles building in my arms, chest, shoulders, legs, gluts...lol -- Best of all, when I hit a bar, all eyes are on me, I feel really amazing when I get "hit on" and I am offered phone numbers. Just think that this change is the best thing that ever happened to me. For those of you who did not have the surgery yet, it's a NO BRAINER....do it!! It will change your life forever, it did for me and I wanted to make sure you all know how great i feel. Sure there are some drawbacks, but the GOOD outweighs the drawbacks and I have stopped feeling like the person I use to be before surgery. God bless u all and keep in touch. Feel free to ask any questions you want......hugs, Chris.
  3. Thanks!! I lost nearly 50 pounds prior to surgery. I was excerxising religiously leading up to surgery and then continued about 2 weeks after surgery. I try to get at least (4) 1 hour seasons per week but most of the time I do (5) total (mon-fri) and take weekends off. Get a trainer, it is incentive plus they know what they are doing. I have one of the best guys in NYC training with me. U need the support of someone that's gonna be on top of your routines or u may lose interest!! Good luck!
  4. You will defintely get there....don't stress. Just keep eating right and stay on top of your exercise. The last 50 pounds is always the toughest but think about the journey to get here.....you've done so well already -- NOTHING will stop you from meeting your goal. :-) Best of luck!!!

  5. Thanks so much to all of u!! Your support is appreciated!! :-))
  6. Thanks so much!!! :-)

  7. Hey Sam!! Congrats on the weight loss as well. I work out at LA Boxing on Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens.
  8. Good evening friends! I am having my Surgery this Tuesday, 3/15 and I am wondering if I should shave my chest and stomach area before surgery??? I am not sure what to expect as I'm thinking the hair might help hide the scars afterwards. Does anyone have any firsthand experience on the best approach if you are somewhat hairy? Best wishes to all....Thanks.
  9. Hello friends. I am having my surgery on 3/15 and was wondering what kind of experiences you all had after surgery in terms of food intake. Where you subjected to only eating liquids and for how long. Do you get hunger pains at all? What types of food can one eat? I assume you cannot eat and drink at the same time. Is it true that if you have a glass of water before your meal, you can't really eat much? Also, I heard that it is difficult to drink carbonated drinks.....will I be able to have a Perrier or Diet Coke again? Your feedback is much appreciated. Best of luck and a great weekend to all!! Chris.
  10. Wow, thanks for spelling it all out for me. I am going to have stock up on the campbell's soup before my surgery!!! Laughing Cow cheese is one of my favorites, so I hope it works for me too! Thanks again and continued success to u!!
  11. Thanks for the tips. I know it must have been difficult but I am sure the end result makes it well worth the journey. Continued success to u!!
  12. Thanks for the update. So u went straight to food, wasn't that tough on your stomach after the sleeve? I am so happy for u. Best of luck and continued success!!
  13. Thanks for taking the time to post this, this puts everything in perspective! I am sure u are happy with the results. Good luck with everything. :-)
  14. Just wanted to know if the scarring after surgery is limited to the scars that go away after time. When you google it, there are some pics that show up that have a big incision (does not even look laproscopic)......in addition to the 5 or 7 smaller holes around your stomach area!! Did anyone go into this and end up getting scars that they didn't think they would have? My surgery date is 3/15 and I am on my pre-op diet until the surgery date....I can't wait! Good luck to all!!

When you say "do not cheat" on your pre-op diet, what do you mean? My pre-op diet consists of low carbs, Protein & about 1,500 calories per day.....isn't everyone different??? Thanks for the information!!
  16. Thanks for the vote of confidence. You are a true icon for me to follow because you have been so successful. The biggest worry I have is that I won't be able to handle cutting out all the excess food -- psychologically....but I think I can make it work when I think about people like you that did it! Keep the faith and continue to impress the masses. Best of luck for continued success. Best, Chris.
  17. Thanks so much!!! Best of luck to u, just keep yourself focused and realize why you are doing it....the bigger picture always seems to overcome any obstacles. Please keep me posted on your progress!! :-)
