  1. I got a little worried...I wanted to weigh 135 pounds and I hit 110 after the stomach flu this past Dec...that was too much. I added a few things to my diet (not junk! I chose things with more fat and a protein bar almost everyday). I am still more than 10 pounds below my goal but much happy here and staying put!

    Uh Oh

I dont think the insurance company would say anything...but my doctor had set a number I had to hit or he would cancel surgery...if your dr didnt say anything about pre-op weight loss you are fine...besides I think as long as you do exactly what you are suppose to on the two week preop you will be in great shape. I can go up a few pounds with my tom too.

Milk Or Water With Protein Skakes

When I was keeping my calories between 400-600 I used water...when I upped my calories I began using milk...I never really liked milk pre-op....like it a lot now!
  5. I have to tell you a couple of things...from my experience. You most likely feel moody because of the crazy estrogen being dumped as you burn fat. That may cause you to feel down in the dumps too. For me prilosec didnt work so I told the doctor and he changed it to Nexium. So if for some reason you arent getting relief from prilosec then change to something else. I found while losing that if I worked out too much my weight loss slowed. I think it would have picked up if I continued on...but I decided that I would back off. I continued to walk and run a little but no hard core working out and I lost steady until I hit goal at 5 months. Their has been plenty of time since goal for me to get fit and I am working on that. I am saying a little prayer that you will have a better day tomorrow! Hang in there.

  13. Not a day too soon and not a day too late! You did a wonderful job!~
  14. totally agree with sleeve 4 me...I cook 95% of the meals we eat so I dont waste food at home..But when we go out if I like what my husband orders I just share with him. Sometime he wants something too fatty or fried so I order my own and I just eat what I should and ask them to take the plate away when I am full. You can enjoy going out to eat with out eating too much. I learned that about 5 months out.

Worried About Recovery Room Pain & Nausea

You have gotten so many stories already but I kind of liked thinking about this again so I will give you another...I had a little trouble waking up...I guess I am a light weight:) But anyway once they woke me enough to move me I slept for msot of the day...as soon as I was awake I wanted to walk and be up and using the restroom on my own. I would say on a scale of 1-10 pain never got above a 5...and they asked me oftern how I felt. I assume I could have what ever I needed as far as pain. But it really was nothing for me. Praying you have the same experience (I know some have not).

Any Ideas For Replacing Bbq Sauce?

I just found a light BBQ sauce that has 3 grams of sugar instead of like 12.
  18. Yep! I wasnt allowed to have anything under my gown...but you dont need support when you are in surgery and lying down during recovery...once I got up and my cath out I could put on my undies and I did that only a few hours later.

Is There A Cheering Section Near By?

MeeMee-I am your personal cheerleader! You are A-W-E-S-O-M-E...Awesome...ok so I was never a cheerleader but girly you are awesome....The best attitude you can have!
  23. When your family sits down to eat, go for a walk...get out of the house and think about what life will be like after surgery. I mean I personally had to cook for my family of 5 after surgery even when I wasnt eating. I still make them cookies, brownies, ice cream, cakes etc but I dont eat it...It is hard to get used to this but you can. It's ok to be emotional about not having the food, it is a greiving process. Your doctor gave you guidelines you need to do what you can to follow them. I wouldnt suggest you wait until 1.5 weeks is past to do it. Do it now.
  24. When I had surgery I had an 18 month old, a 3 years old and 9 year old. My husband too the first week off completly and then the second week he went to work with they went down for naps. My 9 year old was home before they got up and he helped with lifting the 18 month old out of her crib. I changed diapers on the floor and we did a lot of reading books for a couple of weeks...I had to constantly remind them not to climb on me but it wasnt so bad...we got through it. I napped when they did. Hope things go smoothly for you.
