twoboysandagirl replied to Odee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep there is a chance but you have already had set backs and are over coming those. I didnt have to have insurance approval but I believe that their is a repeals process if you are denied so it isnt a final no. Just hang on and hope for the best. I'll say a little prayer for your nerves. -
Your doing great! Your post will surely help someone who might not be sure this is the life change for them.

How Many Calories Should I Be Eating?
twoboysandagirl replied to ShannonH's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stayed between 400-600 calories a day the entire time I was losing. But you should check with your NUT because everyone has a different plan. -
Question For Sleevers
twoboysandagirl replied to leesakake's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
17months out today. For dinner I had a thin lean hamburger pattie a piece of provolone cheese on those thin buns. I ate 3/4 of it and I had three spoon fulls of peas and carrots. My favorite lunch in 3 turkey meatballs with 1/2 cups of tomato sauce My favorite Breakfast is a Protein shake I can eat 2 small hard tacos if they are not ovefilled with lettuce and meat and chees...just regular I can eat 1/2 a chicken breast if I eat slowly and some veggies I can only eat 1 egg and 1 piece of toast or maybe 2 pieces of turkey bacon instead of the toast. -

Yes! I hard a very hard time with her. Unfortunatly she is most likely overworked. I eventually refused to see her and for all my post-op appointmetns I saw the DR and bypassed her completely. What is she telling you isnt that bad? -
Any religious sleevers out there done the Beth Moore Esther study? I am on week 2 and in the lesson today she quoted a women that took a poll for her...she said for women "sometimes there is nothing that make you happier than seeing a close friend gain a couple pounds". Got me thinking...I dont ever want to think that way about other people....I wonder how many people feel that way about me? What do you think? Do we (especially women) feel that way about others? I want to be happy for others who work hard at taking good care of themelves in an effort to be healthy. But am I disgracefully feel a little good when I lose more than someone else or make a goal first. Gotta work on that right....we are all headed in the same direction. Just some thoughts...wondering if I am alone.

I thought cooking for my family was going to be the hardest part. I prepare 3 meals a day just about every single day and it does get a lot better! Hang in there.

Am I Going Crazy? My Personality Changed.
twoboysandagirl replied to jme53071's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes...it is hormones. I am sure you have read this when you burn fat the fat releases hormones it has been storing like crazy and it make us a bit moody (or really moody) when you weight loss slows down and your body gets into a grove it stops. You will return to a "normal" you. Actually i think I am a bit more laid back now. But maybe you should ask my DH:) -

I'm 58 And My Boobs Are Really Sagging.....help!
twoboysandagirl replied to Queen of Crop's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Just had to respond to this...I am 34 and never had big boobs...but at their biggest (breast feeding and heaviest weight) I was a 40 B. I have NOTHING left after losing over 100 pounds. But what I have is saggy...so I dont think it has anything to do with the age of the boobs I am starting to think that some ladies just have fatty boobs and since I dont have much fat= I have NO boobs. I have found some awesome padded bras that allow me to look like I have small round boobs but i look like a cancer patient or an adolesent in a bathing suit. I have seriously been looking at suits with serious pads. Not sure if I will ever get them "fixed" but my least favortie thing about my body now. -
Everyone Here Seems To Need More Doctor Visits Before Surgery...
twoboysandagirl replied to topha86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If there is one thing I have learned on this website I have learned that every single dr and hospital is different. In my opinion, if you trust your surgeon and are comfortable with him/her than just follow their guidlines and dont worry. Your surgeon is looking at you medical situation and you may not need these tests. Good Luck to you! -
Hi There... I'm New To The Site = )
twoboysandagirl replied to Dede's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome and keep your chin up! I would definatly suggest you keep track of every morsel . Add up your carbs, calories each day. If you are not doing that it may help. -
I got one from my surgeon and I have never used it. Like others have said the kids meal is usually fried foods. I went to a place called extreme pita today with my family and ordered a kids meal for myself and it was perfect for me. They didnt question because I have 2 small kids... My biggest trouble at resturants is the waiters asking me if I want a drink. They always ask atleast twice.

So Dissappointed
twoboysandagirl replied to Nanaof2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think this is a mistake that so many people make ...they rush through the food stages. Good Point PDX! I also agree you may have just eaten it too fast. When I found myself frustrated with the amount of food I could eat I just try to remind myself...food is for fuel only and I eat to live and this isnt the last time in the world I will ever be offered______________to eat. Those were all new ways of thinking for this formally fat girl. -

Questions For Doc
twoboysandagirl replied to M_Johnson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At two weeks...I just wanted to have the assurance I was doing everything right and my incisions were healing right. I can't think of anything I asked. As long as you know the next visit, the lifting exercising requirments, next steps of the meal plan...I think you are set. -
Medical Alert Bracelet
twoboysandagirl replied to MiTurner247's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doctor said it wasnt necessary, I asked because I knew the Bypass patients had to wear one. He gave me a card to carry in my walet that says what procedure I have had and it also asks resturants to sell me a kids meal... I have never used it...kids meals are almost always fried or full of carbs.
