    Burger Salad

Just a thought... the next time try each ingredient by them selves, I am betting it was the corn or dressing. Not the lettuce, cheese or egg. It's kind of like a baby tummy. We start off with 1 ingredient then we know what the tummy likes and doesnt like. I would take a few bites of romaine with something I know my tummy likes and does well with (maybe lunch meat) and see how it goes. Then do the same with all ingredients. Hope that helps. I am sure that after a while salads will be just fine.

    No No Food

The only "NEVER"s I was given were straws, soda or carbonated drinks, and coconut. That being said...I have heard of many who use straws, drink soda and eat coconut on this site. I do not eat much pasta it just doesnt feel good going down. I eat toast but also can tolerate bread that is not to dense. The sandwich thins are good but it takes a log time for me to eat. I have not tried popcorn. I have not tried sweets or cakes. (Except a sugar free cake for my birthday). One of the main reasons I chose this surgery over the others is the freedom that you get AFTER you get to your goal weight. I am chosing to eat healthy and for now I am staying away from junk food.
  8. Yes pork is extrememly hard to digest! I have had several episodes of colitis and my dr told me to avoid pork all together. Even if you have been cleared to eat anything...take it easy pizza is dense and greasy and packed full of fat, carbs and calories. I say add calories and carbs with healthy foods like avacado and pita chips or Protein bars not junk food. Hope you feel better soon.

Soft food stage- out to eat?

I ate mashed potatoes at kfc (only a few spoon fulls). When my family ate out I took a yogurt with me or I stopped and bought a pre made protein shake. It worked for me because we have 3 small kids and I usually dont sit and enjoy a leisurely meal anyway. Good luck to you. If you dont think you can keep from eating things you shouldnt then I say stay home. I just tried to remember that it is only a short time and food is only for nutrients not enjoyment.

    3 month follow-up

I asked all those questions. You should ask them no matter how many responses you get becauase the doctors are so different. I started losing my hair during my 3rd month and it was like I was have Chemo or something. Scary! It has just slowed down at about 9 months and I am totally socked I am not bald. I dont even have bald spots (I made my hubby check frequently). I think I even see some regrowth. My Dr. said it is normal hang on it WILL stop. I started taking a GNC supplement called B-Beautiful I am not really sure it is doing anything but its been 2 months and my hair isnt falling out any more at all. Also I was told to stop using Panteen shampoo and that made a big difference on the amount of hair falling out. I was also given a card for my wallet and told not to get a bracelet it was not needed. Flu shot- you should be good to go but I would ask what they recommend. I had one last year only weeks before my surgery as per my surgeon. Blessings,

    net vs. total carbs?

All I can add to all this...Tiffy said it all. I used her advice and lost all the weight I wanted and with in 5 months! Carb is a carb! I ate mostly meat. Sometimes added a bite or two of veggies until I hit goal.

how soon can you drive after surgery?

As soon as I was off pain meds I could drive. I stopped taking pain meds on day 4. You may not feel up to it until a week or two out but dr. said I could when I felt up to it. He reminded me it was against the law to drive on pain meds. Hope that helps!
  20. HOLY cow after 7 months of losing my hair I think I see some regrowth!!!

  21. Yeap! Same thing happened to me. They sent me home witht milk of magnesia but that just was too hard on my stomach. I literally ran to the bathroom after 20 mins and spent the entire night there. I didnt have consistant BM's for a couple months after surgery. After not having any luck with colace I tried Mirlax. That was the most gentle. I only used it if I went a few days with out going. It all worked itself out about 4 months. Hope that helps.
  22. Went for a wonderful hike with my family...love hiking at this weight!!!
