    dealing with head hunger

great idea on the drinking! I am having the same issues Hope it passes for ya!
  2. I just wanted to share in my joy today. I made it to the gym (go me!) which is no easy feat. I have 2 little ones so the gym means daycare for the littler-little and it also means transporting us there, etc. Not exactly enticing. BUT>.... I swear, since having the sleeve and losing the weight I have WANTED to work out. WANTED to take walks, be outside, be active. Never before could I say "Gee I feel like going to the gym"... in fact I would create reasons why I couldn't make it there. Also, I think that me knowing that a simple 30 minute workout results in for SURE weightloss is a very inspriring thing! Before I would work out super hard, blow my "diet" and not lose anything So.... here's to our sleeves! CHEERS!!! lol
  3. Well, I am down into the 180s amazingly enough and I feel wonderful! Yesterday was Easter and I wore a dress that I bought about a month or so ago. It was snug then, but fits perfectly now : ) My grandma wouldn't stop telling me how amazing I looked, which was so sweet but kinda made me uncomfortable. I am not usually shy about accepting compliments but yesterday I had my aunt tell me that she didn't recognize me when I walked into church, my grandma oohing and ahhing, and my uncle told me I look like a model (ok, laying it on thick, but God bless him! lol). So I have never postd pics here and I'd like to share some from yesterday, 56 lbs down, and about 50 more to go! The reason I added this last one is because before surgery, if I had seen a pic like this taken of me I would have been horrified at all the rolls..... and now I can only see one and I attribute it to my pantyhose Thanks for looking and sharing in my joy!
  4. 100 lbs lost is amazing! Keep it up, you're doing awesome!
  5. Holy Guac you are doing AWESOME!!!! Congrats on the smaller sizes... it feels SO GOOD! Keep it up and you'll be at goal in no time at all!

    Finally !!!!

Congrats! I totally know what you mean... I was actually more excited to hit 189 than 199 which is strange I know! But I was hovering at 190 for over a week so it felt so good to see an 8!
  7. LOL thanks! I feel like my butt is getting really flat, but looking at the pic it's fine I suppose. And YES I am soooo grateful that to date, my boobs are still full! I am wearing a push-up bra but they haven't reached flapjack status. I went down about 1 bra size for 56lbs.... not bad!
  8. Thank you all for the compliments Now I just need to focus on the next 50!

How do you get in the protein?

I still supplement my diet with Protein shakes and I am 3 months out.... I drink one for Breakfast for 2 reasons: 1. I want the extra protein and 2. It prevents me from eating something that isn't beneficial to my weight loss! I feel like it keeps me on track. But I definitely understand how you are feeling! I felt the same about both protein AND liquids because you literally have to be drinking all darn day to consume enough! And then it makes it hard to eat because if you eat then you have to wait to drink and vice versa. Hang in there... it gets better!!

    changing sizes......

Right now it's around every month or so. I am finding that I wear something until it is baggy and then try the next size down and wham it fits!
  13. Congrats!!!! I am so close but I have a feeling I will start crying when I see the # 1 as the first number of my weight! It has been about 3 or so years since that has happened.

    Sex is great again

Good for you! (and your wife! lol)
  16. I love all of these!!!! And yup to the "do you want fries with that?" Nope. Anything to drink "nope". Always gets a weird look! Or in a restaurant when I say that I am ordering nothing... that alwasy gets a weird look too! Why order a meal when I can only eat a few bites... I just nibble off my family's plates and am fine Oh and going through a clothing size in a month. That is WEIRD TO ME!!! But awesome
  17. I was about 240 the day of surgery... 2 months out I was at 207 I believe. So.... 33 lbs since surgery date? Today I was 204. I have hit a stall but am in a size 16 now which is fab. Hoping to be under 200 here shortly!
  18. Congrats and GO GIANTS!!!!!

    I do have one problem!!!

I agree this is a great problem to have! I am so glad that I went through my one box in the closet of clothes that were too small pre-surgery. 2 months later some are even TOO BIG! I started out at a 20 or 18W depending on the brand. I was in Old Navy today and almost peed when I tried on a 16 that was too big. It was the cut though bc a 14 was too small. But still!!!!! It feels amazing to be back in the regular sizes with no x or w!
  20. I agree that this isn't the easy way out, but I too have felt that way. But then I remind myself that I NEEDED this surgery. Before, I was unable to turn down a piece of bread if it was on a table in front of me at a restaurant. Now that piece of bread means nothing to me because I know that if I eat it, I can't eat the Protein that my body needs. I also know that the bread is junk. It won't fuel me, it will just satisfy a momentary craving. But that is the point. This surgery FORCES us to get our act together. Never before could I turn down food. Never before could I monitor my portion sizes. Never before have I lost 40+ lbs in just over 2 months. This surgery is amazing, and now I have chosen to talk about it to anyone who is interested because it truly is amazing!
  21. I have been experiencing #8 and let me tell you it feels AMAZING. I used to look like a sausage in some stuff until I just gave it up entirely and I put it on now and it's too big. The other day I was going through things and just kept telling my husband "oh my god, it fits, oh my god it fits!!!!" He was happy for me but I don't think he quite grasps how amazing it feels And lol at the shoes and "oof". For me, I'll say that I am most looking forward to/experiencing: 1. not having a W or X in my clothing size 2. actually liking the clothes that I am buying, rather than just going for something to cover up rolls 3. crossing my legs without having to pin one on the chair in front of me! 4. tying my shoes without extreme effort 5. fitting in an airplane seat comfortably 6. Feeling like $1mil! I have only lost 40 lbs but I feel so much better about myself and because the scale is still moving it keeps me motivated to stay on track. Also, when I get off track, it is much easier to get right back on now. I remember before I would just give up every day I tried to "diet". Now I notice that when I have a rough eating day, the next I can get back on plan and it isn't a huge ordeal. Makes me feel proud oh and #7... not snoring anymore! Super embarrassing
  22. I drink the Myoplex carb control ones (very low in carbs (I wanna say 3g) and 17g of protein). The dark chocolate ones are the best but the choc fudge ones are ok too. Make sure to drink them on ice!

    GSV - Acne after surgery

Happened to me at exactly around the same time!!! Just hormonal shifts that we weren't expecting. Mine cleared up in a few weeks and I also started using a facial cleanser with salycic acid or whatever that stuff is called! Also my hairdresser noticed that my hair is more fine now. I didn't experience hairloss like some others, but apparently the texture has changed. Weird huh?

    Ladies I have a ?

I am glad you posted this! I was wondering the same exact thing! Before surgery I had barely anything..... And then since, I have had a full blown period. Nothing outrageous but way more and longer than pre-surgery. I was starting to wonder if the IUD had fallen out or something???? Good to know that this is all normal! A

    No energy

I would also suggest taking a B Vitamin (the ones that dissolve under your tongue can be bought at Trader Joes!). But from what I hear it is very common to be exhausted after the surgery!
