OOPS! I forgot I was sleeved!
pcos_chick replied to JaspersGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 days post op and I have a number of dreams were I try to eat and have forgotten that I can't right now. While awake I've had zero hunger and no interest in putting anything in my mouth. -
3rd day post-op...no walk in the park
pcos_chick replied to Can'tweight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the 16th too. I think I'm doing pretty good. Trying to get in fluids and some Protein. I've been sticking to the loritab about half dose and really only lapse at night. Its definitely helping. Gas is ok... burbing is good. I'm worried about fluids though I'm able to sip pretty well. No hunger. Can't wait to be able to sleep on my side. -
11 days post-op and, oh, the constipation!!
pcos_chick replied to VSGandMe2011 (DisneyMomma)'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm day 4 post op (Yay) and all I have is gas moving down there. Was able to finish a 20g Protein shake yesterday and some unjury chicken Soup but even before surgery my bm's had slowed down to every few days with just a small amount of soft material. I can't imagine baring down at this point! Hoping the mirlax works for you. I purchased some pre-op to have on hand and know exactly where it is! -
I'm so excited I can barely stand it. Its finally happening! I'm nervous but mostly just really ready to start the next, healthier chapter of my life!

Protein shakes are making me nauseous
pcos_chick replied to Sara Ann's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've used Atkins and they are pretty good. Now I'm using Unjury and the CVS brand powders and they are great. Have you tried getting different samples? -
Well I'm sitting in the patient waiting room. I'm scheduled to go at 10:30. Pretty excited and a little nervous. Hope every has a great procedure today. Hope to make my first post op post doing well and finally sleeved!!!

Well.... its the final few days!!!! How's everyone been doing?
-
Warning - I have no medical evidence to back this up but.... It was explained to me that our bodies often store toxins in body fat and as you burn that fat you can re-release stuff causing mild flu like symptoms here and there as your body works these things out of your system....

How much protein on liquid diet?
pcos_chick replied to Sara Ann's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm supposed to do 5 shakes a day and aim for 101 grams of protein.... -
Two weeks, 5 protein shakes a day. As much zero calorie non carbonated fluids I can handle.

wife is not supportive at all (long)
pcos_chick replied to doggz109's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't seen anyone else mention this... but given the passion of her refusal to even talk about this with you I would suggest you get some couples therapy. She seems to have some very deep seated fears about this - almost defensively reacting to this issue. Get the surgery, and get some help with communicating about it. You have a partner and your surgery does effect her. -
What kind of yogurt?

Just put it back on them.... When someone says, "You look great, are you losing weight?" Just say, "I was about to ask you the same thing!" Most folks are happy to have the lime light turned back on them.... and if they don't... it serves as a quick reminder not to say something like that to anyone else.

In between an 18-20 is just about my dream size right now - GREAT job! Eddie Bauer, J Jill, Old Navy all have sizing for petite and up to 20 (their size 20 is NOT their plus sizes but their regular .

Fluid intake after surgery...
pcos_chick replied to River King's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
RNY folks use 'Pouch' to describe the faux stomach they have after the surgery... Most sleevers use 'sleeve' to refer to their newly trimmed stomach. -
Day 7 and still doing good. Lost 12ish pounds though not sure TMO figures into that. How is everyone else doing?

What is the best tasting PROTEIN shake???
pcos_chick replied to Weightbgone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm loving unjury... choco, vanilla, chicken Soup, and strawberry sorbet. Not a fan of the unflavored. Atkins Advantage is pretty good too. -

keeping ur stomach?
pcos_chick replied to Justalfe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have watched a ton of the videos on VSG available on youtube and it only made me more comfortable about having this done to my body. One of my concerns was that it would be similar to a c-section which is a pretty rough surgery with lots of cutting and tugging and pulling on your body. In comparison, VSG is gentle!
