    Inspiration or Agitation

Hey, this struck a chord with me too... I have ALWAYS been the biggest in my circle of friends, at work and at home... now things are changing! A really good friend of mine has already started to diet and get fit! She 'reckons' she has lost 23lb since Oct... now this might sound really bad... but I think she is telling lil porkies (lies) because I am nearer her weight than she wants me to be... there is only one dress size between us now and I don't think she likes it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey ho... I don't give one to be honest, I suppose it is sort of a compliment... !!

    Holy Cow!

That is brill...6lb in one week... and I agree with Diva, 2-3lb is a good steady weight loss... nothing slow about that... keep up the good work! =]
  11. yep... you're right; the scales can be evil. I weigh daily, but I have learnt not to let what they say effect my mood now... taken me 6mths though!! =]

    Gained 3lbs in 2 days.

DJjackson, all I can say is congratulations on a bloody good job well done.... you have done sooooo well to date... 54lb since Oct is brilliant; what is a couple of pounds? They will soon go! Keep your chin and don't sweat and just remember you enjoyed your son's birthday too... ain't that what being a mam is all about!
  13. Hey Chilo, the last time I had my thyroid t3sted was about 4 years ago... came back lower end of normal! They did it the same time they tested for cushing. What are the symptoms of insulin resistant? =]
  14. That is brill... I can feel how positive you are all the way over the pond...lol...Looks like you are close to goal too... well done you! =]
  15. Thank you for this.., I had already been thinking along these lines, but I didn't want to sound like I was making excuses... I can't stress enough how I am ticking all the boxes and I do feel really good physically... I have thought along the lines of insulin resistant... ?? I had a test done for cushings a few years ago and that was all clear. I mentioned PCOS to my dr, went for the tests and the consultant said it wasn't going to be an issue for me cos I didn't want anymore children... so I am still non the wiser to whether that is an issue for me or not.. I do know that my monthlys are out of whack! I'll speak with my surgeon or his nurse and see what they say... Thanks again for all your support,.. I think I might have gone daft without this place... xxxx
  16. Loving it... well done you... you look great too!
  17. Diva, Fair play, you make a lot of sense... I guess that I just have to keep on going and hope my body responds... I am alternating between being chuffed that I have lost 50lb, a world record for me, and being frustrated and annoyed that I am not losing more! I do eat my protein first ... and the carbs i do eat are good carbs... I dunno what is going on but at least I haven't gained eh?
  18. thanks Suzanne ... means a lot to me... this is not BS... if I was cheating or making bad food choices A LOT I would not be making this sort of noise... I would simply own up and get on with it... but like I said, I am doing as I should but without the rewards of that movement on the scale... I think a phone call would be a good idea!
  19. OH just as I expected... no weight loss on my offical weigh day... and I have measured and there is no difference there either... I have upped the exercise from 2x per week before xmas to 3-4x a week; this includes cardio such as 40 - 50 mins on treadmill, 20-30 mins on the rower; 10-20 mins on exercise bike; floor work sits ups legs raises etc, free hand weights and some boxing training... mitt work with the pads. I also mix in a little swimming, zumba and walking! I would love to know where I am goinmg wrong here... since Oct 6th I have only lost 10lb! This is starting to get me down and needless to say soul destroying. I didn't 'pig' out over christmas and I don't treat myself on a regular basis... my diet is good 95% and the other 5% is being human!!! I am not sure I can work out more per week as I am starting to feel tired a lot and this time of year is demanding ad regards my job! I gotta be honest girls, I am starting to sound like a broken record and I am getting on my own nerves! I just want this soooooo much. I read on another thread about cals in v cals out and Chilo posted a link to work out BMR and cals needed to maintain... I have worked out to maintain I need 2167cals - well, without a shadow of a doubt, there is no WAY I am eating that much... therefore for me to lose weight I should be eating about 1167 a day... which is more like it. Off the top of my head I would say I am eating about 1000 - 1200... BUT I am going to track for a week and see where I am going wrong... after that week ig there is no change or nothing obvious I will ring my surgeon for some advise!! Sorry for the rant! x

    How is 1200 Calories enough?

Thanks for this Chilo... just what I need to work out why I am not losing...I will do some calcs; log my food for a couple of days and hopefully find out where I am going wrong... xx
  21. Woooooooh.... defo a MINI version!! You look amazing and I just love the pic with the over sized jeans... I bet that feels amazing! Well done you and many congrats on a job well done! =] Can't wait to post the same when I, eventually, reach goal!

    Sleeve and PMS.

Funny one this is ... my monthly friend still hasn't regulated itself properly... no average cycle as yet... I am hoping that as I lose weight this will get better! But I have always had this problem. When she is here, the week before is a nightmare... no lose on the scale and sometimes I get real bad head hunger and very moody. The week of her visit, again I rarely lose weight, and if I do it is no more than a pound. The week after is much better... I might lose 2lb but I feel so much better...lol... glad she has come and gone I suppose! =] Hormones really baffle me!
  23. My surgeon hasn't even mentioned carbs or calories... my guidelines were - 3 meals a day, no more no less - defo no snacking; 60-70g of Protein to be eaten first; eat until full and don't take over 30 mins to eat a meal; drink plenty of water!!! He said I should eat what I want but focus on protein... but like Mini said, I moderated this to suit my own individual needs There are some days when I have a protein based snack because either my cals are too low, I am hungry or I need to make up my protein! Remember this is a great place for asking questions.... I really don't know how I would of kept sane over the last 6mths without this place!!
  24. I am loving your NSV... great feeling ain't it??!! Keep your 'chin' up ... lol =]
