Before And After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Photos
coops replied to StacyS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Stacy, I am just over half way there and I use my before and after pics to keep me motivated, especially when I am in a stall ... I am real slow loser but I am losing... Here goes, hopes this helps... [ this was the day I went in to hospital 2nd July 2010 this was the end of June 10 last week side view!! this is this week at 32 weeks post op, my most recent pic Like I said, I still have a fair bit to go, but when I look back and am pleased with the progress so far... I look forward to sharing goal pics!! -
OMG... 305lb... you have lost two people... and then some!! Goodness me, I feel a little ashamed, sat here moaning about not losing and how slow I am losing; you have sorta give me a reality check that I needed... I am well impressed by your amazing success.... CONGRATULATIONS!! =]

Seven Months and 115 Pounds Later!
coops replied to Brian66's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well Done Brian... what a great success story... I love the way your daughter did you photo montage ... how did she do it? =] -
Hey Helen, I too am in the UK, South Wales... I didn't attend a support group either, but I do find this site very helpful; all my questions have been answered here! I found the first week and a bit to be the worst, soreness in the incision areas and hard to get comfy to sleep but other than that my recovery was really good. It will get better.... I am nearly 8mths out now, so if there is anything I can help with please give me a shout! Hiya Viv, I am in South Wales too... Shwmai!!!|! Where did you get your sleeve done? Like I said to Helen, if there is anyway I can help, give me a shout! I too am a slow loser, but I am losing and not gaining so I'll take that! It certainly is a rollercoaster ride for me but I am sure once I reach goal it will be more than worth it! Hey Angie,,, how the devil are you... glad to hear you are doing well... and fair play to you for not getting on the scales... I am still addicted to them and the bloody things ain't moving for me at the moment... let me know how it is 'up north'!! Oh, and not long before we see our boys .... yey!!! =]

Swimsuits....hmmmm... still unsure on this one! When I had my sleeve I really thought I would be able to wear a two piece by the summer... however, I don't think I will be at goal by then, and althougth I have lost a fair amount, I don't think my confidence is up enough to wear a two piece yet... My head hasn't recognised my weight loss, and I daily struggle with the fat demons telling me I am still too big, whereas realistically I am only a little bit big now! - does that even make sense...lol =]

Oh God, just read this back.... excuse the typos... headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone ever feel like we took the "easy way" out?
coops replied to Brian66's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don't think this is the easy way out ... it is good to have a tool, doesn't make it easy though. Since Oct (I was sleeved beg July) I am fighting for every pound that I lose, and on times, I am really struggling with it. Without the sleeve, I KNOW for sure I would have given up and gained any weight that I had lost (although, back then it was never more that a lose of 7lb - and that would take many, many weeks and mths)! So, this isn't easy for me... but I also appreciate that we are all different ... =] -

Feeling betrayed and ANGRY. Advice?
coops replied to Skinnyagain's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Looks like I am late in on this one... but I just thought I would add that you ARE AN INVESTMENT!!! I too was self pay (UK) and the sleeve has been worth every penny; given me my health back and I am not at goal yet!! Don't let small and bloody minded people ruin your plans... you go for it and enjoy the ride... when have lost some weight, go and tell 'em how much your new clothes cost... just to see the colour drain from their faces!!! =] -
Only 2 pounds this month
coops replied to Middlesister57's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, I agree with the others, don't worry! I am in the exact same position, only I am nearly 8mths out! I have a small phase of losing between 5-7lb then nothing for 1-3 weeks... it is a proper pain in the backside, but and it is a big but, I know that the scale will move again albeit eventually. At the beginning of this I really hoped by now, I would have lost a lot more! However, the dream ended and reality kicked in and I am slowly losing,,, but I am still losing! Your scales will move again, your time hasn't come to an end... be kind to yourself, follow your guidelines and you will see results. Keep us posted and good luck. Chin up! =] -
Easter Sunday - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
coops replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Diva, thanks... I need all the luck I can at the moment... I have started to shake things up a little... I think my cals were too low, so I am having a few days of eating, pretty much what I want, then back to the protein and low carb and see if that helps... we are on half term here, so no work (work to do at home in the form of marking though!) so I am away from my usual gym! Gotta try and find the motivation to do something at home!! xx -
It is a great feeling when someone important gives you a compliment like that! What a great NSV!! Congrats and a good job! =]

What is your target BMI?
coops replied to PatrickG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, I've set my ultimate goal at a bmi of 24.9 just to get into the normal range... but like you I would be happy with it in the twenties... -
Well Done... stalls are crap aren't they... best thing about a stall is breaking it... so, well done again on getting to the 180's!!!

5 Month Sleeversary and 50 Lbs gone FOREVER!!!
coops replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hey Diva, ain't you looking mighty hot lady!!!! What a difference!!!! Congrats on your success soooooo far, I know you will reach goal, you are getting closer and closer... I know what you are saying regarding the tread mill... I too have started using it a lot more and it is all due to the sleeve! Pre sleeve, I could manage a walk... now I jog,.. one day perhaps, like you, I will run!! Keep up the good work xx -
Helloah! Over the last 3 weeks or so I have been getting hot flushes/flashes... it is as if someone has plugged me into a heater for 2-3 mins, I go red faced and I break into a clammy sweat, especailly around my forehead. Sometimes there are bouts of dizziness with the flush but sometimes not. When the flush is over, I am pretty much back to normal most of the time... they are happening daily between 3 -7 times a day. I have also been having nasty headaches, including 2 migraines, in the same time frame. I think I read somewhere on here that it could be the female hormone being released as we lose weight that causes this... Or, is it hormonal? My monthly cycle is all over the place; never two mths the same ranging from 27 days to 45 days! No pattern, no prediction! Has anyone else had this ... ? Any advise greatly rec'd - as always!
