I have an appt on the 21st of this month. I am going to talk to the doctor about it. I have lost 58 pounds in 5 months. I love that but this being sick and nausuated at my stomach all the time is getting tiring. I do think I may need a little out. Will I have to do a liquid diet again when you get unfilled? I definitely do not want to gain any weight. Thanks for the comments.

Yes I am in Hillsborough Florida. I have been banded since March 29. I love loosing weight. But being sick and weak are starting to get to me. I have good days and bad days. I just cannot even keep down Water sometimes. This is definitely not the easy way out. Its hard learning how to eat with a band.

I am almost 6 months out and I am still having a lot of bad days. Sometimes I cannot even keep water down. I just feel like my stomach has a mind of its own now. I throw up a lot and even when I chew it to death, but I am not sure of the portion size I can eat jusst a few bites and still get sick. Then I feel all better. I have only violently thrown up a hand ful of times but that is horrible and make my band area really really sore. But for the most part it just comes up in a blob and I feel all better. I am just worried if I am getting enough nutrition. Any one else have these problems and what do you do to help?
-
yes I have been having that problem a lot lately. It is very frustrating. I don;t have a clue what to do about it though.

I have this problem as well.. I feel like I cannot burp. Its just stuck and feels like bubbles. I was doing pretty good but the last month I feel like I have just been throwing up and sliming all the time. It seems like I should be able to keep a little more down. I am having a hard time with acid reflux at nights I wake up coughing and choking on what feels like grit in my throat. It is getting worse instead of better. I just cannot figure out why. I am getting frustrated. But I have lost a total of 38 pounds since I started this whole process. I was banded 3/29 and my first fill was 5/11/11 I am happy with my weight loss but I don't like feeling bad.

OMG...how did it erode? what are they going to do about it??

i was banded 3/29/11 and had my fist fill about 6 weeks ago and I am down 34 pounds ... I love it. It is still a learning process on what i can eat but i think its been worth it. I just hope my weight loss continues at this rate. Starting at 246/ Now I am 212 goal is 140

Am I supposed to be in this much pain?
DonnaJ4 replied to imtoxic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I think it must be normal...i felt like crap also. I was not prepared for that. I got the liquid pain med. But I am 9 days post op and my gas is not out of my body. Its awful. The incisions and stuff feel ok. Its just that gas stuck in my ribs and my back it hurts so bad i feel like throwing up. I still do not really have any appetite. I am going to try to drink a protein shake today because I am feeling weak. I hope it gets better for you. -
wow I can't eat much either. only sips of drinks and maybe a few bites since March 29. i have to make myself drink. but my stomach hurts and is full of pressure under my breast when i try to eat something. my stomach is beginning to growl but I am too scared to eat much.

I was banded Mar 29, I haven't even weighed my self since. I am so frustrated with the gas pain. it hurts so bad. I was not prepared for this. The surgery it self is not that painful its the darn gas they fill you with. I need this out of me so badly. any suggestions other than walking my feet off and gas x or mylanta????

I was banded March 29, I am suppose to eat liquids until tomorrow then full liquids for a week then mushies.. blah blah blah.... so sick of itl i have pretty much followed the rules but today i ate about 3 bites of spagheti. i hope it doesnt stretch my poach. i am having the hardest time getting all of this gas out of my system. my stomach feels sore like i have had a intense work out sore, but i also am having swelling. i was scared i was getting dehydrated i am trying to drink more today. hope to feel better soon, i am still glad i did it but i wasnt prepared for as much pain as i had. it seems like every doctor is different on your post op diet. i dont get a fill for 6 weeks, that seems a little long.

your story does hit home... food is such a comfort. but i to need to change my relationship with it. I kind of feel like if we are strong enough to make it thru the 2 weeks of liquid before surgery we can do it. small portions is better than NO portions. good luck. I get banded tomorrow.
-
so since you are so newly banded and everything is fresh in your mind...were you terrible sore after surgery? I have mine tomorrow and havent really been nervous but never really thought about after feeling until now.
-
how long did you wait after surgery to eat something, other than mush. I am so sick of liquids - have surgery tomorrow.
