Thank you for replying, it makes me feel better I'm not alone. Everyone is telling me to let my doctor know right away but I don't want to do that until I know for sure. He stressed over and over again to not get pregnant for a year and its not like I didn't try to protect myself lol I'm already on prenatal vitamins, have been since the surgery. He said that's the best multi vitamin to take so that's help if I am pregnant

I'm freaking out right now! I was banded on Oct 17th and have actually been doing pretty good I've lost over 40 pounds with no complications but I could be pregnant now. Me and my fiance had our usual protected sex but after finishing we relaized the condom had broke and it was too late. I know they say to at least wait a year so I'm scared to death right now. I still have two weeks before my period to take a test but everytime in the past we had unprotected sex we have got pregnant first thing. We have a beautiful happy healthy 3 year old daughter and I had a miscarriage 10 months after we had her. The reason for the miscarriage was I was taken birth control pills and didn't reliaze I was pregnant. So has any one else gotten pregnant this close out? And how did it go? I'm scared to death!!!

Hello Again! I'm 8 days post op and get to start my mushies in 2 days So glad about that! But I have several questions: 1.) When it comes to eating mashed potatoes, is instant or regular better? And do I mix in my 1% milk, smart balance butter and alternative salt in? 2.) I know I can do mushie veggies and baked skinless fish, can I have vinegar on those? 3.) Tuna salad is on my mushie diet list. Can I just mix tuna and fat free mayo together? 4.) Also would love to hear what everyone else did or does on their mushie phase? Open to any and all sugguestions! Questions not related to diet: 1.) Am I suppose to be able to feel my port? I feel like I have a huge golf ball in my belly 2.) My doctor never told me but when is it safe to take a bath instead of shower? Thanks

Hello All, I was banded on 10/17/11 and granted it's only been 6 day, I feel great! I didn't have too much pain after surgery and no nausea at all. Over the weekend though I had a breakdown See me and my family always go out to eat on weekends and I knew that would be something I would definitly miss but thought I'd be ok. But NO! We went and all I got was a Water but watching everyone else eat killed me. I thought since I felt so good maybe a little bit of food won't hurt me! I ate a bite of hot roll, a couple carrots and a few bites of my daughers chicken strips. As the food was going down I had some pain, it was more of a stabing pain in my back actually which lasted like a whole 2 mins. But After that pain went away I was fine! I thought I would be sick or throw it up but I didn't! I do feel bad for cheating like that and I'm worried it could hurt my band. I know I need stronger will power and I need to follow my Dr. instrusctions and diets. I'm just wondering, should I have been able to tolerate it? Or is something wrong with my band?

Hello Everyone! My surgery should have already been done and over with by now, I had my first consultation back in Feb. and did everything my insurance company wanted me to do but of course they denied me at first. I gave up hope then. I figured why appeal it just to get shot down again? I made myself accept the fact I'd just be overweight by whole life. One day at work I got a random phone call from my surgen telling me he submitted my appeal for me and got it approved! I'm so happy I get to finally have it done. My surgery is scheduled Oct 17th . I haven't really had any instructions yet on a pre op diet but I'm trying to drop some old habits ( again ) and practice what I know is needed after the surgery! I wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to sharing this journey with you

My BMI is 43 and as of right now I don't have any comorbs but I'm definitly heading down that path. I'm getting really upset because all insurance can tell me is it's still processing and I went trough so much to get this far. Having the phys reveiw and the endoscopy surgery & now theyre telling me I need to have a PFT test , chest xray and tons of blood work done! I've already did so much blood work in the past month I don't think I can give any more blood. I don't know I'm just getting frustrated and about to say forget it! I want a new life and a new me but going through all this trouble just to get approved is horrible!

I'm going through the same thing at the momet. Just playing the waiting game! My doctor's office sent in for my approval on March 14th. I was hoping to be an April bandster too but I sitll haven't heard anything! It's so hard waiting, but I agree with you this is a good time to start practicing all the eatnig habits. Hopefully we'll both hear something soon

Ok, So I'm waiting on approval from Tricare North! I've been through everything already, the consultation, the endoscopy surgery, the phys reveiw and pre op dieting now! They told me Monday they were submitting everything and I'm scared to death I'm going to get denied! I have all the correct paperwork, 6 months of supervised dieting, been obese almost my whole life, 5'4 260lbs! Any advice on thinking if I'll get approved or not?
