Straw question

I use a straw daily... No issues. I was told not to for the first couple of weeks because of the gas from the surgery. But after that, no restrictions...

Someone Noticed!

Good for you!!! It is nice... I've been the same weight for over 9 months now and within 10 pounds for well over a year and my brother just now commented on my weight loss after he got my Christmas card. He's a little out of it I've decided... Keep up the great work!!!

Lapband Just Did Not Work For Me

Im just checking to see if I have this right... You have a poster that posted that they have struggled and wants to keep on the forum to get support from people who have been successful, but then gets upset when someone who has lost well over 100 pounds tried to tell them how they were successful with the lap band. from what I read she was being supportive but was also giving you some tough love. Floridays is a success as I consider myself as well. We post how we would react and feel in your position. I agree with everything she said as a person that has lost with the lapband. Your doctor is an a$$ and you need to go to another one and get a second opinion. Noone should be talked to like that. I wish you well and hope you can continue on with your journey.
5. Try not to panic to much until you talk to the surgeon tomorrow. If you are not comfortable with doing a surgery tomorrow with what they are telling you, then u might have to get a second opinion. If you are able to keep things down now that they removed the Fluid, then it might not be that much of an emergency. See what the surgeon says tomorrow. good luck, please keep us informed..
6. I'm usually a 10, but have been able fit into some 8s depending on the fit. These were pretty comfy. Not bad for still being considered over weight by 6 lbs. Go figure...
7. Two years in April. I have maintaining for about a year now. Love it, wouldn't change a thing...

I miss sandwiches!

I haven't had a sandwich in almost two years. Every once in awhile I really miss them. But then I remember that I really like my new body, so I don't miss them anymore.

The attention actually is sometimes hard to take at times. But it's better than being invisible like before. Congrats!!

size 8 jeans

Thank u so much ladies... I'm finally accepting my new body even though it has the same old flaws. I'm so happy and comfortable. I started working in a small clothing Boutique and it's interesting that even the skinny girls find something to complain about their bodies... But coming from where I was, I'm not complaining as much now...

1 year "Bandanniversary!!!"

Congrats!! Don't give up if you want to keep going. I lost another 10 lbs after I thought I was done after my 1 bandiversary. And I am still interested in possible another 10.

My mother is dead.

That is so not right. Most of us have agreed to disagree about certain things and have even posted a response that not everyone would like. But to put it like that with those kinds if words is unacceptable to say the least. I'm sorry you had to receive that.
19. If you have lost 12 lbs and its been two months since your unfill you probably are ready for a fill anyway. Your band is loose because of the time and the amount you have lost. Go in and get your fill. You are only going to slow your progress if you wait and then your nurse will be made about that instead if your unfill :-)

What About Our Fat Friends And Relatives

It is a catch 22, isn't it. You want to tell people about it because it helped your own personal well being, but you don't want to make them feel bad or mad because they are personally against WLS... If they see your success and they know you had WLS, they will ask questions when they are ready to. Good luck!!

Spanx

I've never tried them, but was considering it once. They are kinda pricey. My thinking is that I just lost 75 lbs so whatever I look like now is a vast improvement over what I used to look like.
22. Congrats all around!!! You both look fantastic!!!

What About Our Fat Friends And Relatives

I have been very open about my surgery and if anyone had questions or wanted to know more than I am more than willing to give all the ups ( and downs) that I went through to get where I am now. I would no way say to anyone that they need to have it done or suggest that they do it. This is a personal decision and I know had to personally be ready for this, cause if your not head ready, it won't work. I had one sister in law that did it ( and is doing great) and one that seemed really interested but in the end has not chosen to do it yet. If she ever does, I will be there to help her if she needs me. But I won't push her.
