There is a rampant case of stomach flu going around our school and I am so afraid of getting it. My stomach feels a little quezy, but not sure if that is just me thinking to much! Has anyone had a case of the stomach flu and survived without getting an unfill? I am wondering if I should get an unfill as a precaution?!? In the past I have been able to "talk" myself out of throwing up, but I wonder if that will work now. Uggg, I dont want this! But I guess I am going to get at some point in time that I have my band. I was just hoping to make it to goal before that happened.

After 15 Years Of Marriage It Finally Happened Today......
hopetolose replied to cyn2011's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My hubby hovers around 200 or so, so I passed him back in August. But it was a GREAT feeling. I am now lower than my 18 year old and I am slowly getting to my 16 year old (both boys). I am thinking that if my 16 year old keeps growing and I keep losing it will help us both out!!! LOL I dont think I will try to catch my 7 year old. Congrats! -
I have been hovering between 180 and 185 for months now. Have not really tried very hard to get going again, was just happy that I didnt gain during the Holiday's!! Well I finally hit 179.5 this morning. I know that if I get back to the gym on a regular basis and really start watching what I eat I would probably do alot better. I have been in the 180's since October, uggg. I am not really as bummed that I am not losing the last 20 as I should be. I am just really pleased that I was able to maintain a weight for some length of time. To lose 60 lbs and maintain it for even just a little bit has been wonderful in itself. But..... I really want to lose the last 20 now. Hopefully by summer, which is only like a pound a week. I think I can do that. I was only at 160 for a short time in my life (my first wedding) and then I crept back up and had kids (and then 20 years happened to go by) haha. So I am wondering how fesible it will be to maintain that weight. I feel really comfortable right now. I guess I can just try to lose and see how it works at that weight. But I also dont want to lose 20 and then gain it back because then I might not stop. Is anyone not at goal, but is happy with the weight that they are at. This is the weight that I gave to myself when I got the surgery. The Doctor wanted to shoot for 160.00 because that is normal BMI. Technically, I am still overweight, But I dont feel that way anymore. I am wearing 12's for the most part (I even have a size 8 that I can sqeeze into). So is that really overweight. Or am I just talking myself out of doing the rest of the work and dropping the last 20???? that is the real question I guess.... Thanks for listening.

I Think The Last 20 Are Going To Be Hard!
hopetolose replied to hopetolose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks! I needed to hear that I just need to stick with it and keep moving forward. I started journeling again and im really gonna try to get back in the gym on a regular basis. Back to the basics!! -
We are getting close to the year mark! Two or so months!! Just checking to see how everyone is doing. I havent been on the site as much as I have wanted to since the Holidays, but I finally broke a little goal, so I thought I would really start getting things going again and check in here and get some motivation! I finally got out of the 180's. Today was 179.5. I dont know how that has been possible with what I have been eating and not going to the gym on a regular basis, but I guess I will take what I can get. My bad thing at the moment: I have been on this kick of getting 2 chocolate chip Cookies from McDonalds (yum) almost on a daily basis. But I am still right around 1100 to 1200 calories a day, so I guess that is what has been helping me. I have not been following the lapband diet at all. I have foods that I am unable to eat and stay away from those, but I mostly just eat what I want but can still only eat about a cup or two at a time still. So I think I am at my green zone. But I would like to drop this last 20 and so I think I will utilize my green zone better and get back on the recommended diet and stop with the cookie thing!!!!! Please let me know how you are doing and any obsticles that you are facing a year out! Maybe someone is at goal!!! that would be nice to hear!!

I have always had thunder thighs! Even when they were toned and tight, they were excessive!! But now, at 45, they are granny thunder thighs. Yuck. But I have to accept the fact that I am only going to get older and other things are going to begin to look grannyish so eventually everything will catch up to my thighs

Will u throw out your "big" clothes
hopetolose posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been in size 18+ for the last 15 years or so. Now that my clothes are starting to get big, I am debating on what to do with the stuff after I cant fit into at anymore. Are u donating them or storing them away? If I store them, is that my head thinking I might need them again someday? -
Food Question For Sucessful Banders
hopetolose replied to Kristen1969's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are times when I wonder how I have been successful. I really dont folllow the prescribed diet that I was told to do when starting. I have slowed down considerable with my weight loss, but have continued to lose over the last few months. I eat alot less but dont feel deprived at all. I am starting a exersise team fitness program on the 16th that will hopefully help me lose my last 20 lbs. I might try to restart with the diet as well as see how that goes. -
I havent posted for awhile, but I had to tell a funny story. I was modeling an outfit that I bought to wear to Chicago next weekend for my mom to get her opinion. My son came in and said " you look like a teenager". Now I dont know if it was really a compliment, but I guess I will take it as one. Made me laugh!! Quick update; im down 58 pounds. have been plateaued for the past month or so. But finally started losing this past week. Which is weird, cause I havent even been trying. I was just planning on riding it out until after the holidays and start again. I guess I will see how far I can go with this wave of weight loss!! hope all is well with everyone

I to have not posted fow awhile now. Totally agree with the negative posts. LOVE my band. Maybe its upto us band lovers to start posting more positive stuff more often. I know for me, it gets a little old reading the same things all the time about how everyone is cheating after two days or the get frustrated about not losing after two weeks. I have to remind myself that I was in those shoes once and had all the questions they have now. I hope new posters will forgive some of the old posters for not always being there as they should be to help be positive amoung the negative.

Dave, you are the man!!!! You haven't hit your 1st anniversary and have come so far!!! Congrats to you. And im sure that you will be at your goal in no time at all. -
Omg, I got some beef and green Beans today for lunch, took two bites and it got so ingredibly stuck I slimmed and threw up for an hour straight. Went into the doctors and she decided to take little bit out. I get to go back in two weeks and get it put back though. The doc also ordered a ct scan for my port area. Ive been having a little bit of pain there for a little over a week, so hes just going to check in it. wish me luck on maintaining for the next couple of weeks.

Congrats!!! I was banded 4/14 and am at 51 also. Such a great feeling.

I dont do fluro. I wonder how much extra they are to do. If she keeps empting you, and having to start over each time. yuck! My pa only took out .50, just to loosen it up in case it was swollen. I dont know whats going on with my port! It is always kinda sore during my period, but now its pretty constant soreness. Im wondering if it not just caused by my waistbands or a belt. Its right next to my belly button.
