Im Starting To Freak Out Over My "bump" Image Included
hopetolose replied to littlerlou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went in for a fill today and showed your pic to my fill dr. She said that it looked like a flipped port. She said that you should be able to still get fills. It would be up to you if you want to get it fixed or not. It would probably be an out of pocket expense, which is a bummer. She said that because you are so newly banded, it might have happened if you picked up more than you were suppose to within your 6 week recovery time. My doctor said that we werent even suppose to push something that weighed more than 20 lbs (not even a grocery cart). I will admit i didnt follow that rule. I would still go in a see your doctor to make sure that is what it is. Good luck to you! -

Do You Sometimes Feel Like A Fraud?
hopetolose replied to Miss Meow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have told many people about my band, it doesnt bother me who knows. People that I see in passing that I havent seen for awhile that comment, I will usually just say thank you and go from there. If they are truly curious and I think it could be of use to them, I I might tell more. But sometimes that can be bad because because then they want it and cant afford it and dont have insurance. Then I feel bad. Or they think it is a quick fix and uf they get it it will be magic. If I tell them, I tell them the good and the bad... -

I still cant beleive I am in onderland... and its been 6 months. I have hit a plateau at around 180ish. I have been down to 177 and now at 179. I think I was at 180 for a very long time before and my body is confortable here... Onderland is Wonderful!!!

I like this new layout. It seems to be easier to update pics and such. I added some new pics of my progress. I lost the original ones that I did when i was first banded which is a bummer (didnt download them from my phone and lost my phone). So the progress pics are from about two months out and I was already down about 27 lbs. But you can see the before pic on the profile page and that was taken on October of 2010. I look back now and everyone that see it says that they cant beleive I was ever that big. Its amazing how much you can change in a year (or less). Come check out my pics

You Look HOT!!! way to go! I read your profile and its still amazing thinking back at how it was just a year ago. I feel you pain and joy! I see you are under the 20 mark as well. It seems like the last 20 will go soooo slow! good luck to you. You look amazing!

I think that has been one of the hardest things to get used to is wraping my head around the fact that I actually lost weight. Normally when I lost weight, I was on a "diet" and it took forever and I was always starving and I would only lose about 20 lbs or so. But when I lost the weight, it felt like it because I guess i thought I worked really hard. But this has been "kinda" easy in the fact that I just have to eat to work with the band and I am really not that hungry at all. So when I try to wrap my head around that I have lost 60+ pounds, sometimes it doesnt seem possible. I look in the mirror and I say wow, I actually did it. Not sure if that makes sense or not Im sure you hubby is right when he says he can tell a difference even if you cant yet Congrats and take some more pics

Are Hiccups Normal?
hopetolose replied to tina duggan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, normal!. You will be amazed at what sounds you will be hearing from your body now.... They get to be pretty funny at times. The hiccups didnt last very long for me. Now when I am full I just tend to burb a little. Or I gurggle. Sometimes I gurggle really loud and other people will hear it. Sometimes embarrising like when you are getting a massage and are in a really quite room -
Did My Band Slip?
hopetolose replied to Lilygirl40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What does the pain feel like? Where is it at? If its between your breast bone, it could be that you irritated something right above your stomach. If its lower, you might have eaten to much and it needs to digest. I ate way to much once and got this awful pain just below my breast bone that lasted several hours. Either way, I would keep to liquids until you can get into the doctor if it keeps hurting. If you cant keep liquids down, I would go to the ER right away. Does your doctor have an after hours number you can try? goodluck! -
Surgery...tomorrow!!
hopetolose replied to horsegirl315's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember the day before surgery. The headache and everything!!!! My solution. Go to bed. If anything else than to just relax and not think about food and surgery and what ever else there is. Goodluck tomorrow. I goes by really fast and you will be home before you know it. -
Coming Back After A Very Long Time!
hopetolose replied to KateP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome Back! It is good to hear that you have made it so long with your band and had very few problems. It does seem that people get down to their goal and leave to live their new lives. congrats to you!!! -
Ain't that the truth!!!!

6 Days Out, Is It Reflux?
hopetolose replied to pibble11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does it have a gurrgling sound? If so, this is food or drink just sliding past the band. Ive never really had reflux, so not sure about that... -
Awsome!!! LOVE fitting into a new size!!!!

People Who Regret Getting The Band
hopetolose replied to Richard Bush's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I do not miss over stuffing myself. I have only made myself really uncomfortable once since surgery and I dont want to do that again. I do not miss what I use to do to myself on a daily basis. I have made the commitment to work with the band. There are days when I do slider foods, but I dont stuff myself with them. The band still tells me when I have had enough. I cant say if there are people out there that have band rejections or if they just didnt use it properly. I think most cases go towards not using it properly. If my Doctor came out and said that 50% of his patients regain the weight, I would have gone somewhere else right away. He seems to be in it to make money and not to help patients. At my doctors office, you have to go in a certain amount of times the first year and then as much as you want after that, but at least once a year for life. Please consider looking for a new doctor to help you! -
thank you all! Yes the lapband works! I have now lost about 80% of my excess weight. I hope to be close to the 100% by my bandiversary in april. But if not, I feel awsome anyway... AND I would NOT be here if not for this lapband. love it thanks again for your nice comments!!!
-
Thanks! You guys are doing awsome. I didnt think I wanted to take pics ongoing, but it does seem to help with the progression. Even the first 25 I could see a difference in my face and other parts as well. I still have 18 lbs to go and Im sure that it will be a big difference again. Good Luck to you both.
