  1. I absolutely love the honesty.. and would have loved to see your face!!!! You did the right thing,,truly stepping away when you did... you were full!!!
  2. Hey Gotmyeyeontheprize Please stay strong. I am in the same boat. I am scheduled for my 1st fill on April 12 was banded Feb 25 and I look at the calendar everyday. Although I received pretty decent restriction from the band placement. I now make sure that I am eating sufficient amounts of Protein and Fiber. Although I am on regular food I still LOVE my Protein shakes and I pour fiber in them so that feeling of hunger doesn't haunt me allday. Also if you have a dietician make that individual your BFF..seriously. I email my dietician daily.. just to make sure that I am not doing anything incorrect. These days are will power for me! I found that when I even think about "comfort foods" I go walk..listen to my ipod and zone out.. Because if I constantly think about food I will completely fail.. and that is not an option for me.. Please feel free to email me (deneshad1183@gmail.com) anytime if you need some advice .. Just remember this forum is GREAT SUPPORT!!!!! I wish you the best of LUCK!!!!
  3. Hello, My name is DeNesha and I was banded on 2/25/2011 last Friday. I was on a clear-liquid diet for 4 days prior to surgery and now I am on a liquid diet still and I am losing my mind. If I strain another can of Soup or see another pot of broth I feel like I am going to cry. So I had to test the Water to see if I was ready to go onto at least puree and everything seems fine. I am still healing and I am so scared that I am going to do damage and I know that is to be avoided. I CHEATED and ate a banana and steamed carrots yesterday and it was GREAT... although that shouldn't be my focus. I need help. Any suggestions or Newbies that know how I am feeling... I go see my surgeon tomorrow (getting my staples removed whoohoo!!!!) and my Dietician. Also any suggestions on Protein powder or products.. I have been using powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and Muscle Milk Light and I need other options....I'm bored with the same ole taste/flavors.. -DeNesha
  4. It is normal, I am still dealing with similiar pains. Funny enough I find myself holding my stomach port site only when I bend or use the bathroom. You will be fine. Hang in there! The heating bad in a miracle worker also. just pad it with a thick bath towel.
  5. Hi RedSparkles11, My name is DeNesha and I was just banded on 2/24/2011 and to just be honest I have had many thoughts of eating and cheating lol, but the after surgery liquids isnt bad just consume 64 oz of Water and dont forgot your Protein. You will be fine. I did cheat being that I have been on liquids 2 1/2 weeks (just being honest) I felt so bad emotionally because I cheated but then I had to rethink the situation. My surgeon placed me on a pre-op clear liquid diet 1 week before surgery and then 2 weeks liquid diet post op.. Good news is I have only until this friday to move to soft puree foods!! YAY!!! I go to the doctor today to have my staples removed and I am so excited and more anxious about fills.(in a good way) Also please look out for creative ways to incorporate protein into the liquid stage.... sugar free DaVinci Syrups are life saver, they have so many flavors and when you mix these syrups in some vanilla Protein Powder its amazing!!!!!! So good luck to you and keep us posted!!
  6. Thank you so much!!! I will pull it together. I have only 4 more days on liquids and I can do it! I have made a note on the Protein suggestion!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Now I can rest. -DeNesha
  7. Hi, Kimberly, I was banded on Feb 25, 2011 and my heart goes out to you. I also recommend (sugar-free) popsicles they saved my life days ago. Also warm green tea also helped me tremendously. I hope all gets better. I feel your pain the beginning is very hard. -DeNesha
