I cried for the first time...
corinnerae replied to pinknsassyemt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone, EVERYONE, has their own issues. These women obviously have never had being overweight as an issue, but they certainly have some PERSONALITY ISSUES, in my humble opinion. No one is obese just because they are "lazy". I had surgery in August, and I cannot tell you how my quality of life has changed. But, having the band is not magic. You have to work at this. It is a tool, but you must make decisions every day to exercise and watch what you eat. That is really why I think it is really foolish of these women to assume this is the easy way out. It isn't easy, but I could not be happier that I made this decision, and I am sure you will be happy you made it as well. Good luck, and best wishes on your journey! -
I stepped on the scale this morning, and for the first time since I was in my early twenties (15 years ago!) I am in ONEDERLAND! I had to step on again just to make sure. No one else was awake in the house, hubby already off to work, but I wanted to run out the door and dance down the street! I know not many people would understand this, but thanks to this lovely site, I know there are a few of you fellow bandsters that would get it.

Thank you so much for your support! It is amazing how magical seeing that little skinny "1" in front of those numbers truly is! Good luck as I am sure you will be there in no time!

Finally!! ONEDERLAND!!!!

Whoo hoo! That is terrific! I stepped on the scale this morning, and I was at 200.0. (Of course I stepped off and on again to make sure it was right) I haven't been in onederland for over 15 years, and believe me, the next time I step on, I WILL BE THERE! Great job, so happy for you! I will be joining you in ONEDERLAND soon! -
I got a fill a few months ago, and it was REALLY tight to begin with, so tight I was having problems with liquids too. What I found is that a lot of it was swelling due to the fill, and within a few days it got much better. I'd say take it easy, and listen to your body. Good luck!

August Rush in bandland!
corinnerae replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! I am pretty new to the site, so glad I found it. I am so happy to have found you all that are August 2010 bandsters too. I just had a fill this morning, .5cc's. Hadn't had a fill since December, so I was definitely due for some "fine tuning". I am SO close to "onederland" for the first time since my early twenties (I am 36)! So excited... only 1 pound to go! -
I had never really been a fan of Greek yogurt, but I really like the Chobani brand, especially the honey flavor. I usually add a 1/8 of raw almonds for crunch and texture. I am not a fan of Breakfast in general, so this is what I eat almost every weekday for breakfast.

should i get another fill or wait to my next appointment
corinnerae replied to btorres0698's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a similar thing happen, but I was having problems with liquids too. Way too tight right after the fill. I decided to wait a couple of days since I had a fill on a Friday, and was planning to go in on Monday to have Fluid removed if it wasn't better. I think mine was due to swelling after the fill, because after a few days it got better. If you are still losing, I would say to wait to get a fill. If you are not, maybe a .25 fill. I haven't had a fill for three months now, and I know I am ready for one again. I am at 7 months post op now. My "filler" told me last month that I might be due for a fill again this month because you "lose weight inside and outside". I thought that was kind of interesting. Good luck! -
I just found this website today. How terrific! I started going to the support group at the hospital I had my surgery at, but all the other participants had gatric bypass, and it is SO different from the band. I am really happy to find a community of people that are going through the same thing! I had my surgery on 8/18/10, so it has been 6 months since surgery, and I have lost 40 pounds so far. My clinic is fantastic, but I have found that they are quite conservative about fills. A friend of my that goes to a different clinic (she is three years post op) has a way more restrictive fill level than mine is. I haven't had a fill for two months now (I have lost enough now that I can definitely tell I am due for a fill again), and she has told me that she can barely eat anything for weeks after she has a fill. Is anyone else having this experience?
