I also had a hernia repair but I was only home for 1 week. I would be ticked off too!

I am more afraid of what will I be able to tolerate than how much I will eat. I cooked fajitas for the family tonight and wondered will I ever eat them again ? I am 10 post op and I am a little nervous about the day that solids are re-introduced.

Hi I am 10 days post op and I feel great. I was banded on a Wednesday. I ran errands on Friday and Saturday beacuse my son had Prom. I was a little sore and used a pillow in the car while driving but other that that I was good. I was back at work on Monday and I have been rolling along every since. Creamy soups are on my mushie list. It is different for each doctor. Congratulations I wish you well

Hi, I was told to avoid carrots and potatoes on my pre-op diet. Each doctors instructions are different.

Hi LyMarie, Congrats on getting your band. I was also banded on 03/30. I too chose to have the band after loosing weight and gaining quite a bit of it back. I lost 54 in 2008, by March of this year I had gained 31 of it back. I decided that I needed help in order to get it back off and maintain it. I believe that I made the right choice in getting banded. I am now hoping that I can follow the plan and be successful in my weight loss journey. I wish you the best!!!!!! Andrea

Hi, My name is Andrea and I was also banded on 03/30. Today was also my first day at work and for the most part is was good but I was really drained by the end of the day. I think it will be better tomorrow. I am so sick of the shakes,jello and yogurt. I cheated tonight and had some green Beans . They went down fine and I feel so much better. I am going to call the Doctor tomorrow and see if I can officially start the mushy"s early. Good Luck on your Journey!!!!!!

Hi Guys, I returned to work today. I felt great at first but by 11:00 I was drained. I also experienced a pain today in my chest that initially scrared me but I soon realized it was a new way for me to feel the gas. When I take a deep breath it cuts sharp in my left shoulder. If that will stop I will be great. I am going to call the doctor tomorrow and see if I can start the mushies early. The liquids are not holding me and I don"t want to over do it on the liquids.

I was banded on 03/30/11. I am doing pretty good. I have felt more discomfort than pain. It is mostly in the left shoulder. I do not use the pain meds during the day but I have taken them at night to help me sleep better. I am now able to sleep on either side. I use a a pillow on my belly when I turn. I mixed some Miralax with my Water today for some assistance in that department. I have been surviving on broth,sf popscicles,pudding and yogurt. I use muscle milk and atkins for my Protein shakes. My swelling has gone down quite a bit which is causing me to feel hungrier. I am suppose to do 14 days of liquids before mushies but I don't know if I will make it. I am happy with my results so far: 03/02 consult 305 03/28 pre op 298 03/30 banding 295 04/03 today 289 Good Luck to Everyone !!!!!!

We are going to remain optimistic. Your doctor is going to figure out the cause of the pain and it is going to be something minor that can be corrected without have the band removed.

Today will mark the beginning of a new me! I am so excited. I have to admit that I am also a little nervous. Wish me well!!

Thank you so much for the support. Everything is going well. My pain and gas have been minimal. I have had a little water,a few ounces of a protein shake and 1/2 of a sf jello. I am going to take some of the pain medicine to help during the night. This website has been a blessing. I have learned a lot. I will keep you posted.

Hi Everyone, After having an initial lap band consultation in 02/08 I decided to wait and instead went on WW and lost 54 lbs. I have since gained half of that back and realized that I can't do this by myself. I had another consultation with True Results on 03/02/11 and I was over the 300 mark again. I have toiled with the idea of surgery for a while and I think it is the best thing for me. I am not nervous about the procedure itself but the thought of doing something so permanent. I am scheduled for lab work this week and the actual surgery on 03/31/11. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.........I am so anxious. I have only told a few people because I do not want to be bogged down with negative remarks.

Hi I am being banded at the Richardson Surgery Ctr on 03/30/11 by Dr. Benavides. I am a cash patient as well so the entire process has gone pretty quick. My initial consult was 03/02 and I had my EGD on 03/16 , it was a breeze. The staff at True results as well as the surgery ctr have been extremely nice. I have been able to have all of my questions answered. I hope I have helped a little Good Luck
