Chickaboom -- If your doctor thinks you have been on pureed foods this whole time he may feel that by moving to solid foods you will stay fuller longer and lose weight. Just a thought.

Dreamer, that sounds terrible! I feel sorry for you. How far away are you from your goal? It doesn't look like you have much in your fill, but is it possible that it is too much? What does your doctor say about it? I know for me, cookies, ice cream, and cake go down easily, and that is why I am at a stand still. It is so hard to keep from eating those things when it is so easy. How about you? What can you eat or what do you eat during the day? I'm just curious if water and protein drinks are all you feel you can do at this point. I hope things work out for you. Take care.

Question for Dr. SPIVAK clients....pre-op diet
heymsparker replied to TerriDoodle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had 4 fills so far. The first one was at surgi-center w/ Spivak watching. The next 2 were at his office with Brenda, and I agree she is gentle. The one I just had was from a lady I have never seen before. I don't know her name, but she has short brown hair. She was friendly, but it hurt more than it ever has before. She mentioned that because I'm losing weight my port is harder to get a hold of. Maybe that had something to do with the discomfort. -
Wanting to Start A Houston (Westchase, Katy, Highway 6) Support Group
heymsparker replied to galati25's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would be up for joining a support group. I live in Katy. I was banded on January 19th, 2007. I've lost 36 lbs and looking to lose another 30-40. I'm new at this and so how do we go about getting it started? -
You know, I find that all the bad things go down with ease as well. I have had 4 fills now, I am at 2.8 ccs. I don't have any idea how many ccs my band is, I was told that is was a small one. I do however know that when I went from 1.5 to 2.5 it was a big shock! I realized the importance of chewing really well. Anyway, I ate a half a piece of a chicken strip and got food poisoning, so throwing up from true sickness was a lot like throwing up from eating too much for me. It was uncomfortable, but it came out okay. I find that when I eat or drink I need to burp a lot. I wonder if that extra air is causing me to fill up quicker. Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping air out, or is this normal? I try not to use straws, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Also, I've noticed that when I have eaten too much, I hiccup, I sneeze, and my mouth fills up with the slime. Is this normal?
