  1. I have a co-worker who had the surgery a year ago and has lost 42 lbs and I am so proud of her! She was my inspriation to have the surgery. I had my surgery March 23, 2011 and had my follow-up appointment March 31 and at that point I had lost 16 lbs. Me thinking she would be proud of me for my accomplishment...boy was I wrong! She said that I can't lose more than her, it took her a month to lose 16 lbs, it's not fair! (all her sayings) Yesterday she aked me what I was eating, I told her a 1/2 can of cream of mushroom soup and a couple of spoons of applesauce, she proceeds to tell me that it's okay for me to eat now and I said i'm fine, my friend asked her why is she trying to make me eat, she said because she's jealous of my weight lose!!!! I know she's saying it in a joking manner but I know she's being serious at the same time. So now i'm in a competition that I didn't even know I entered! SMH

  4. So happy to say my surgery was a success!!!! Had the surgery at about 7:45 am 3/23...woke up with slight pain but I was more cold than in pain. No pain in the incisions well just a little bit tender where the port is. No gas pains {knock on wood...lol}! I just get a little stiff if I sit to long, but other than that everything is going well! So happy about my decision!

    surgery 3/23

Congratulations ladies!! We're band sisters...lol I'm not really hungry either! I stayed over night in the hospital they gave me chicken broth, sugar free jello, sugar free popsisicles{so good} & apple juice. I was nauseas about an hr after I had to drink that contrast crap to make sure there were no leaks...I threw all that crap up...ugh! But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get the gas pains but I've been up walking around so hopefully they don't come!
  7. Todays the day!!!! Head to the hospital right now....nerves, nerves, nerves...but its a happy, happy day!
  8. Thank you...just arrived waiting to ne admitted!
  9. My band date is the 23rd of March and my nerves are starting to get to me! When I 1st received my band date I was so happy but as the days go by I'm becoming a little scared. Even though I haven't told too many people about the surgery I don't really know if I can talk to them about my fear. So I want to hear those who've had the surgery to kinda talk me of the ledge {so to speak}lol...
  10. Congraulations on your banding...my thing is I've never had surgery or been put under befoe! Were you in any discomfort when you woke up or when you go to sleep? I understand everyones pain levels are different
  11. My surgery is scheduled for March 23rd and I'm so ready to start a new chapter in my life! I was researching about the lap band and came across this site and I've been reading all the post and all have been helpful in many different ways. I do have to admit I am getting a little bit nervous because I've never had surgery but I know this is going to be so worth it! I will be coming here frequently for help and suggestions. Thanks for listening!
