Jeff ~~~~congrats! I also am frightened of "going under". I think I am going to try and take my laptop so I can stay very "centered" on this website until my number is called. Did they offer you any nerve meds until they gave you the sleepy meds? I think I am going to make my Dr. promise to wake me up ASAP to tell me everything is okay. Did you sleep for the rest of the day after surgery, how groggy were you?

Hi Gail ~Welcome... If you want to come over and taste test, I have vanilla, bannana and choc. I love choc anything as long as it is not bitter, so my favorite if chocolate but that is no surprise. Order early because it takes awhile to ship. Offer still stands if you want to taste test... Are you doing lapband or gastric bypass? -

Hey Red; So which bariatrix flavor do you like the best? Are you staying overnight? Or are you doing the same day in and out quickie lap band? -
Baby; Do you work? I am just curious how you live in S.Cal where everything is 30-45 minutes away and you have a full schedule as far as I can see, I am curious where you fit work into this? Are you a housewife?
-
Baby I can't imagine doing that much at the gym. I am trying to figure out if I am a whimp or I just need to suck it up. How fast did you walk, and bicycle?
-
Tracy Another thought.... Are you cooking from canned? If you are try fresh they are 100000% better, what a difference, I love vegtables but can't eat canned.
-
Tracy, Have you ever tried chinese stir fried vegtables? They are crispy almost as if they are not cooked. Then maybe if you like them you can learn to cook them similiarily and go from there. Just a thought.
-
Cindy I just want to make sure you know I appreciate your frankness and time to post a reality check for me. GREAT JOB!
-
Steph; I have been reading through messages for you online becaused you mentioned you are concerned about getting enough protein during the liquid only phase immediately after you surgery. Go buy protein powder 1 scoop = 30grams of whey protein and thin out some yogurt or chick broth or whatever and it is suppose to be tasteless. Let me know~~~ I am just repeating some of what I have read over these websites I am addicted to regarding lapband.

They are suggesting I spend the night when I get mine done because of the sleep apnea thing. Glad everything turned out great... Did you on your way home from the hospital buy a new outfit 4 sizes smaller??????
-
go to www.wbi.meta-ehealth.com for bariatrx essentials. This website you must "register" with them but 25% or more savings than anyother place I have found. If you can't figure out how to register call Danielle at 775-326-9152 and she will place your order. I agree "good stuff".

Exactly!!!! What was your diet? Did you starve? Was it legal? -
Do you think I would qualify?
Success in lapband replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Call your ins. co and ask them what their criteria is to be considered for the lap band surgery. Mine was that I had to be considered morbidly obese and then that broke down to 100# overweight regardless of co morbibities. Every ins.co is different from what I understand. As a second thought you could always go to Mexico -

C'mon ladies..... Go to the thrift store and TREAT yourself! It is always fun to buy clothes in smaller sizes. Even though I think it is very generous for people to give away their bigger clothes, it is more "therapeutic" for us to have the "pleasure" of shopping for those smaller sizes. Just fyi, our community has an annual fashion show for any/all participants and it is a HUGE clothing swap. I am in Reno, but if you lived here you would know about it.

My dr.told my evaporation is expected, he never went into details about how much is expected but not to be shocked when it happens. He also said that if your band had a leak it would empty to zero.

I am glad SOMEBODY said they are afraid of surguries! I went to the sugeon yesterday and point blank asked how many people died during this elective surgery, his response was NOT ONE in my entire office practice. So that assured me that I was not going to die during surgery and I would wake up relieved it was over and excited for my new life. I have; like you been researching and reading for just a small, tiny reason I should not do this and I have not found a reason one. However, my surgeon said he does not care how I get the weight off BUT the weight needs to come off as soon as possible for health reasons and I have tried for 25 years to maintain a healthy weight and have not been able to. Every health issue I have can be resolved with losing 100# pounds. So a 35-45 minute procedure can do this for me, I need to do it. Remembering not one patient has died during surgery. That was my fear "death". And yet I am 100# overweight and slowly killing myself, being this heavy. Good Luck please let me know details of how you made it.

Woohoo I think I will be a February Bandster!!

Taninoz ::: Way to go thanks for posting those good news results!!!

tell me more please..... where can I go to do some research on this, I am seeing my surgeon on Monday and I want to present this to him.

Per my Dr.: The band is made to last forever. It sound as if the band that you are referring to needs attention and I am thinking that it is definately not the expected only after 10 years.
