Last night I was on a mission. I wanted to wear jeans to work today so I dug in my closet and pulled out every pair of jeans that I had. Honey I gave away 13 pairs of jeans last night!!! :D I would try on a pair, run to the mirror, see that they were too big -- then the music would play in my head!! At first it was very faint and then it got louder and louder and that's when I would do the Shimmy Shimmy shake until the jeans fell off my body!!! I was cracking up so hard and making such a ruckus my husband had to come upstairs to make sure I hadn't completely lost my mind! :lol: I told him my "dilemma" and he was like, "Well I guess you have to go shopping then!" You don't have to tell me twice! ;) As soon as I get off work this afternoon I'm making a B-Line to the nearest Ross [my favorite store in the world] and buy me some cheap jeans cause I don't plan on being in a size 16 for long. Heck I may even buy me some 14s and 12s . . . well maybe not the 12s but it sure feels good thinking that I can buy some and get into them in a few months! I'm soooooooooo glad I got this sleeve!!! It has really been a life saver. I used to take 5 pills a day and now I only take 1 pill a day and it's at the lowest dosage!!! Praise God!!! Just wanted to share my little happy story with you all!! You were soooooooooo right!! I went back to Burlington and found some size 12s and I wore them to church 2 weeks ago!! I could not stop smiling. . . so after church we went to LadyVelvet's house [my sister] so she could squeal with me!!! Thanks!!

Congrats on your decision and welcome to the board!!! I'm from Sugar Land, TX. I'm 51, 5'4" and used to weigh 260 a year ago. When I started this journey I was 242.5. As of this morning I weigh 212. I love my sleeve and you will too!!! Take care and keep us posted on your journey!

Hello and welcome Tina!!! :D I'm from Sugar Land!! Congrats on your sleeve surgery and weight loss. My sister/bestie were sleeved on 5/13/11 by the same surgeon, same day, same everything!! I love my sleeve!! I had no complications either and am now on solid foods. I only eat about a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of anything I eat. I did buy myself a candle warmer so that my food can stay warm while I take "forever" to eat. So far I think I've lost around 45 lbs and I could not be happier. :) Anyway . . . welcome and keep us posted on your progress. Take care!

Hi Lisa!! You are so right about the exercise and water. Exercising is about the hardest thing to do but it is sooooooo worth it! ! My sister and I meet at Lifetime Fitness at 4:00 a.m. 3-5 times per week and get our workout on!!! We motivate each other!! We were both sleeved on the same day, same surgeon, same hospital, etc. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll loose those 30 lbs in no time flat! Take care!!

This is the gym my sister and I belong to. It is AWESOME!!! The staff is great, they have good classes for just about everything, basketball court, child care plus a rock climbing wall [i'm going to talk her into climbing that way if it's the last thing I do!! ;) ] I suggest you go by there and do a tour I promise you will love it!!! Last Sunday after church the Hubby and I went to our local Goodwill Industries store to pick him up some work pants. The last time I went in there, which was over a year ago, I had to look in the “Plus Size” section. Now everyone knows how that goes . . . when you enter a store you see all these cute clothes for the “regular” sized woman but go to the Plus Size section and you see some of your Grandma’s old clothes . . . you know the jeans/pants with elastic in the waist and some of her old gardening shirts thrown in for good measure!!! Now this time I went to the regular size section for women!! I made out like a bandit!!! I got a pair of Michael Kor’s jeans [tag still on them], Levi’s and another brand that I can’t remember the name of all for $7.99 a pair!!! I was in heaven!!! :angel_smile: The size of the jeans were a 16 on the Michael Kor’s [which are now sagging just a little but who cares they cost me $7.99] and the other ones were a size 14 which I can proudly wear with no trouble!!! My scale is not moving a great deal so it must be inches right???!!! YAY either way!!!:teeth_smile: :teeth_smile: :teeth_smile: I’m going to re-measure myself tonight so that I can know exactly what I’ve done. I’m only 5 weeks out from my VSG surgery and I’m loving every minute of it!!! Just thought I’d share!! AAWWWW thanks my fellow loosers!!! When I find/hear about good information I have to pass it on. I've learned soooooo much from everyone on this board it would be wrong for me not to pass on the little info that I do get. I'm sorry Sweetie but I have to agree with everyone else. It is going to be difficult or nearly impossible to find a surgeon who will do this type of surgery on someone your age. You are 16 and your body is still developing. I can sympathize with you on wanting to wear the skinny jeans and bikini but everything will happen in time. Believe me everything that you want to happen will happen when it's supposed to happen. Be patient, listen to your body, don't beat yourself up about what you can or cannot wear or do. I'm sure you're a beautiful young lady and you still have your whole life ahead of you. When you reach 18 and IF you still feel this way I'm sure you will find a surgeon to do your VSG. Please keep reading and on this forum, there are some AWESOME people on here who can help you!! Take very good care of yourself, enjoy your summer and keep in touch!
