  1. I am looking for some easy crock pot soup or stew recipes. I am not the best cook so I need them to be somewhat simple. Any ideas would be wonderful. thanks
  2. I was just recenlty banded in February of this year. I am also new to the Tampa FL area as my husband and I just relocated down here from Iowa less than a year ago. I am really missing my friends and family back home which is making this whole process even harder. I am looking for other bansters in the area. Am I the only one in Tampa FL that has been banded?

  8. My new life started a year ago last February and since then I have lost 110 pounds. Congratulations to you~
  9. I to struggle with snacking at night. It has been my biggest challenge. The thing I have tried is to do something to keep my hands. Take up crocheting, needle work, play a card game. I have even purchased a small electronic casino game just to keep my hands busy. It does seem to help.
  10. I am struggling getting in my daily protein. What kinds of foods are you eating that are high in protein that are helping you achieve your daily protein goals?
  11. Thank you for posting. I have just started my journey but I have about the same amount of weight to loose. It is very helpful and motivating to be able to see someone that has already achieved it. You look amazing.

Cost of Lap Band out of pocket

That is what I paid for my lapband. My fills and doctor visits were free for the first 90 days and then my fills are $50.00
  13. I was recently banded in February of this year and I am also new to the Tampa/Brandon FL area as my husband and I just relocated here less than a year ago. I am definetly homesick and missing my friends and family back home. Looking for anyone who might be interested in a fitness buddy to get together and excerise. Maybe Zumba classes, walking, etc.
  14. Hello everyone, I to have been struggling a little. I went for my 2nd fill and got to tight. It was awful. All I did was throw up for 2 weeks straight. I kept thinking it would get better but it didn't. I finally went back to the doctor this week and he took out .5cc's. Now I think I am to loose. I am back to being able to eat just about anything. It is weird how just a little amount can make such a difference. It seems like the most frustrating part of this whole process is finding the right amount for your fill. By nature I am not a patient person so this is driving me crazy. I want to get to the perfect spot NOW so that I can start getting this weight off. I have lost almost 50lbs so far. My main motivation for getting the lap band (self-pay) is because I am 42 years old and a little over a year ago I had a massive heart attack. (That was a surprise) It scares me that if I do not get this weight off and get healthy that I am going to have another one. Each day is definetly a new adventure. This website is definetly a huge help. It is so nice to talk to other people that are going through the same thing. Are any of you struggling getting your meds down? I have to take 8 pills a day which is pratically a meal.
  15. I just got my 2nd fill and I am struggling with getting stuck alot. I think I am eating slow and chewing really well but now I question myself. I was just curious how long it takes all of you to eat a meal or even a 4 ounce piece of meat. Thanks
  16. I just got my second fill and now have good restriction, however I have noticed that I am weak and tired alot of the time. Has anyone else experienced this. I am wondering if this has to do with the lack of food in comparison to what I use to eat I hear alot of people talk about protein shakes but have not yet tried any. There seems to be so many on the market and I don't want to spend the money on them and then not like them. Alot of people I have talked to say they are grainy and taste like crap. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  17. Typical Day Carnation Instant Breakfast drink for breakfast (I am tight in the morning) Mid morning I ususally have a yogurt or sugar free pudding cup. lunch I try and have cottage cheese and maybe tuna salad dinner Soup and a vegatable
  18. I got my second fill on Monday of this week and I would say that I now have restriction. My questions is that everytime I take a small drink I can feel the liquid going down. I am now not drinking as much liquid as I was previously because I can only take small sips. I just started on mushy food last night and nothing has gotten stuck, but I definetly have to eat very very slow and I can feel everything going down. I would not say it is necessarily painful but it does feel weird. Is this something that I just have to learn to live with??

    emotional rollercoaster

I too went through the emotional woes. Be patient with yourself. You will soon feel like you are in control again. It is a process of relearning the food process. Often times I think we start to grieve the loss of our food addiction. Our heads are still addicted but our body no longer allows us to induldge. It does get better.
  20. I TOTALLY understand what you are saying. I just got my second fill this week and I to am feeling the same way. Somewhat in shock. I am hoping that it gets better!
  21. Hi Everyone, I was banded on February 17th in Tampa FL and am currently down 40lbs. Had my second fill this Monday and now have 4.5cc's in a 10cc band. I am definetly feeling restricted now. When I drink I can definetely feel the liquid going down. Are any of you experiencing this. It doesn't really hurt it just feels really really weird and I can only sip on liquids now.

Any Feb bandster gotten a fill yet?

I was banded on February 17th and had my first fill about 2 weeks ago. It was painless, which surprised me a little. I do feel some restriction but it seems to depend on the time of day. Going back in a week for another small fill. My doctor has told me that it can take anywhere from 2-4 fills to get you to the perfect spotl
  23. Great I look forward to meeting you there.
  24. I know how you feel. I was the same way. My doctor kept telling me it was not about loosing weight the first 6 weeks, but the last thing I wanted to do was gain weight. Keep the faith. I too had to wait 6 weeks for my first fill. I started chewing gum again. I bought every flavor I could find and then when I was hunger I would pop in a flavor and chew away.
  25. Do you go to the monthly support group meetings???
