  1. http://wlsfa.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/2012PDFAgenda_V3.pdf Here's the agenda....
  2. It's the annual WLS Meet and Greet conference in Las Vegas at Bally's May 18-20. Lots of exhibitors. Great speakers on WLS, Dr Katzon on after weight loss skin surgery, inspirational speakers, workouts, etc... Looks like a great weekend. Im getting banded in April and I think this would be a great conference to attend for life after banding. I was just on the site but went back and now having trouble accessing it. Be sure to look later. Im in California, so it would be a quick 50 minute flight for me....
  3. I could be getting cold feet as my April 2 date gets closer, maybe I'm looking for an excuse but now that I'm on the preop diet and making a serious attempt to lose weight, I'm losing weight. Im following all the rules, getting myself ready, i.e.: drinking tons of water, stepped up my exercising, dropped all carbs, no alcohol, concentrating on protein. So, the question I'm asking myself that Im sure you all asked yourselves: If I'm losing weight now can I do this without the band IF I continue following these rules which are the same rules I'd have to follow with the band? Those that asked yourself that question, went through with the surgery and can now look back....what are your thoughts on this?...thank you so much for your insight. ELCEE, B52 and Corrigan Im counting on you to reply!!!! : )
  4. Even though you havent had the first fill arent you still somewhat restricted if only because of the band itself?

    Pre Op Weight Loss Success

Moma50, Yes, I did know the answer but desperately needed to hear variations of it from all of you and have it in writing so I can read and reread for the next 3 weks. Im beginning to over think and over analyze all this and talk myself out of it! Thank you!

    Juicing?

I love juicing! It's such a great and easy way to get those nutrients. Kale is a superfood and you cant even taste it juiced. When juicing a lot of greens you need to get an apple or carrot in there to mask the green taste. I did a 15 day juice fast and lost 20 lbs. i was on a detox/cleansing program. Im assuming you have watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? What a great documentary! Try this one: 2 gala apples 2 carrots 5 kale leaves 6 strawberries Or this one Celery, rommaine, 5 kale leaves, 1 apple, 1 lemon, a smidgeon of ginger Happy Juicing!
  13. My psych exam consisted of two visits. The first was a 550 questionnaire exam. And the second was a 10 minute one on one with the Psychiatrist. I was so nervous, but they were both a breeze. The questionnaire was like: Have you ever enjoyed smashing bugs when you were a child Do you hate your father? Do you have an interest is forestry as a profession? The questions were bizarre but must mean something when they run it thru their analyzing machine. You could clearly see the pattern of questions and what they were after.... The visit with the Doc was nothing. She basically asked me the same questions they asked on the form they had me fillout when I checked in. All that worry for nothing!
  14. Oh, the joy of things to come ....

  19. How sweet! You are so welcome! What I know comes from following this site and researching the heck out of WLS. I've also been attending a support group for 12 months and have learned soooo much from that group. Im getting more and more nervous every day!

I think this is what bothers me about getting the surgery (scheduled 4/2). Read this article on the stigma of obese people even AFTER they lose weight via WLS.....Inshouldnt worry so much about what others think and just make myself happy and healthy. http://www.healthcanal.com/life-style-fitness/27394-Losing-the-weight-but-not-the-stigma.html

    Inpatient Or Outpatient?

I havent had surgery yet but I would absolutely stay. It's only one day of your life and you will be monitored and taken care of. The trip home will likely be more comfortable as well.
