    Migraines? who suffers like me?

I have suffered from migraines for 20 years. Classic symptoms. I have found that taking the Excedrin Migraine really helps if I take it when I first feel the tingling. I also use Imitrex "Nasal". It is super good and clars a migraine in minutes. I haven't had but one migraine since my diet changed. Mine were REALLY REALLY bad so don't discount the Excedrine Migraine as a possible solution.

    Jacksonville Florida?

Dr Cywes is awesome. He banded me on 4/30 at memorial. His staff is polite and professional. Call and make an appointment. You be glad you did. Feel free to ask me any questions about his service. Ann
  7. Adorable, you may need another fill but try to cut the calories first. It really worked for me. I also find that keeping things really simple helps me. I have an Atkins shake at 8am and another 4 hours later at 12 noon. That way I do not put myself in danger of larger portions. Most evenings I have another shake. (I have a husband and 4 kids, a full time job etc etc etc). When I make dinner for the family I keep handy a measure for two tablespoons (1/8 cup) and if I want to eat what they are eating I limit myself. Plan to suceed by having sugar free jello, ice pops and broth at home. I also keep sliced chicken or turkey for a snack at 60 cals a portion. There is no secret to losing - the carbs are the focus for me. I wish I had started this weight loss plan years ago. I have spent 10 years focusing on low fat. All I did was gain. I also have bought several books and I am educating myself on carbs and weight loss/gain. Also...I have a goal sheet that takes me through the end of the year losing 3 lbs a week. You are so close to being under 200 that I know you can get there if you really try. I challenge you to get under 200 by September 1. Can you see yourself in a smaller size. Not having to shop in the Plus dept? Get that picture in your mind and you'll be able to do it. Are you adding up everything? Remember if you only cheat one day a week that adds up to 52 days a year which is almost two months of cheating. In two months you could lose 25 lbs. I can tell by your posts that you really want this. You go for it girl - you've already lost weight so you know you can do it. Good luck, I'm getting off the soap box now. Ann

    May 2007 Banders

Debbie, I was banded April 30 2007 and had a similar experience to you. It took five weeks for me to heal. It's hard when others that were banded at the same time as you are getting fills and you can't. I had my first fill on Tuesday of this week which was 6 weeks after surgery. My doctor is working with me to get me to my "sweet spot" on schedule. Good luck. Ann
  9. PS I haven't had a fill yet (scheduled Tuesday !!). My plan is to lower my intake o 500 - 600 at that time.
  10. I am sticking to around 700 per day. It make it easier for me to plan my day if I have an idea of what I'm doing as far as food goes. I've settled into 20 carbs, 30 fat grams and 90 protein as a goal. Works out to be just over 700 calories. I saw this breakdown on another web site and it works good for me. My doc says up to 30 carbs so i do have a significant cushion.

=( what is going on here??!

Silry, Leedorr said exactly what I would have told you. WAS a Bubble Butt also gave you the right answer. Now it's up to you. I would add to lookout for hidden carbs For my first couple of weeks I did not track and weigh everything exactly - now I do. Good luck. Ann
  13. Adorable, we are in the same boat. I had my surgery done 4/30 and have gone from 296.5 to 280 - 281.5 (about 15 lbs) Although I am happy with the total weight loss I am still frustrated, like you are, that I haven't seen any significant loss in over a week. My goal was 20 lbs in the first month post op). I am eating no more than 600 - 900 calories a day. A shake for breakfast and another for lunch with some chicken or fish and vegs for dinner. Sugar free jello or broth to stop the hunger. I am drinking 4 x 16 oz water every day. So my plan like yours is to kick in some exercise. I am going to my doctor tomorrow for the 30 day check up and hopefully for a fill that will give me some restriction. Hang in there for a few more days and I'm sure you will see some loss. I am tracking my food intake on FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal, it seems to help me stay focused. Although my scales are telling me there is no loss my head is telling me that it has to show up real soon because I have changed my eating habits. Please post if you have a pound or two loss. I'm sure there are many people out there just like us who would be encouraged by knowing you have gotten over this early plateau.

    April 07 bandsters?

I was banded 4/30 and have felt great. The biggest change so far for me has been that my feet don't swell now. I am able to get into my heels and wear them ALL day. What other benifits have you'all seen? anniemac

    Food Crazies!

I was banded on 4/30/07 and on my one week check up had lost 10 lbs. My question is for those who have had the band for a while. Was your weight loss consistant from day one or did it really kick in after the first or second fill. Also what is the recommendation for calorie, fat and protien intake.

    just had surgery yesterday

I had my surgery done on Monday. I remember moving to to the table from the stretcher and then waking up. I was home by 3.30pm. A little shoulder pain was the only problem I have had. Curious as to why no orange sg popcicles - they are my favourite?

    Protein Drink Inquiry

I was banded on Monday 4/30 so today was my first day off clear liquids. Being a huge Starbucks fan I was not really looking forward to a life without my late / coffee. This morning I tried AdvantEDGE caramel coffee protein drink and was thrilled to discover it tasted like 'Starbucks Machiato'. Can someone answer this. I'm not really sure on portions yet and took 15 minutes to drink about 5oz of the drink. Does that sound okay?? I don't want to stretch the pouch. Please give me some feedback. Anniemac
