    Did I hurt my band?

Thanks TKW that makes me feel a lot better!!
  2. I'm two weeks out and have a question. At one week I had a terrible night where I had nausea and dry heeves. Later I realized I had eaten pudding that was too thick. Now a week later I can eat a lot! A whole cup of pureed soup, soft beef or chicken. Do you think my band is working? Did I mess it up when I got sick? I'm worried.

Anyone reading WHY WE GET FAT ?

Yes, I'm in the middle of it. It does make a lot of sense. I especially pondered the part where "fat cell" demand to be fed first. Like a tumor. That's why we continue to eat so (making us fat) much because the food we ate just went to the fat cells, leaving the rest of our body starving for food! It made we realize the damage carbs has been doing to my body all these years.
  4. Thank you everyone for your advice. NO MORE SUGAR for me. It is what sent me into a tail spin. I will stick closer to protein. You all are wonderful. Thanks for being there!
  5. I received my lap band 2 weeks ago. At first all I drank was protein shakes. Between pre and po op I lost 22 pounds in 3 weeks! But this last week I've started adding cream soups and ice cream because I felt like I was starving. Now I've regained about 5 pounds in 5 days!!! I have to wait till 5 weeks post op for my first fill. At this rate I'll regain everything I lost! Is this normal? Help what can I do? My appetite is like a monster back from the dead!

Banded the 25th hoping I'm normal

[Trish151 Thank you so much for writing this. It is truly a road map for me. I have found since my banding 1 week ago, I too have let my "mind" wonder at times. I have felt a deep connection with God and all his love. I have tried to walk in faith and hope of the tomorrow. This new beginning, as given me a second chance to change my destiny. I love your words of "transform the mind." Today I will let go and let God. Thank for for your wise words. quote name=Trish151' timestamp='1298984221' post='1579973] You know, the mind is powerful. I don't know what your religious affiliation is, but I too had some of the same worries cross my mind. I say cross, because I chose to only let them be brief. We are told to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We may have little control over what come across our minds but we can use them to pray for the opposite if the thought is of something such as a blood clot that could harm us, and then meditate on the fact that we prayed for help on our weight loss journies and we received it. At the end of the day, when you have done all you can do, just thank God that you are on your way and have his protection to see you through. I had several friends and family members who were a little concerned for me to have this surgery but I feel that God moved a lot of things around to make it happen. It was also the help that I have been praying for all of these years. I know the inability to lose on my own was a stronghold in my mind that I couldn't get past. Each day I have been telling my body thank you for it's ability to renew itself and heal. If you really think about it, someone put holes in your stomache just a few days ago and already your body is healing and changing into the new you that you have accepted. Regardless if you have to take an extra day off from work. Help me celebrate today that we did this. Take a nap, turn on the radio and walk a few steps in place and just allow yourself to giggle and be happy that you took such an important step towards your goal. It can all be down hill from now.

    Band 2/21/11

It has been one week such my actual surgery. I have had a great weight loss so far with my pre and post op diet. Today at 1 week of full liquids, I have to admit I'm a little nervous and wonder at times if I'm glad I did this. I am hoping that it's not buyer remorse and once I can start eating solids I will not have so much fear of the future. Is this normal to feel this way at this point? It feels like I'll never be able to go out to eat or enjoy food again. I know I can't keep on life I was, I want to get ahold of my life and enjoy being physical again. It takes me 50 pounds for myself and others to really tell I've lost weight. I just need to get to this point. Thanks who ever can help!
