Canadian Bandsters - what would have made it better?
Astrotoes replied to argon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree Becca, this site has been there to answer so many of the questions that the clinics don't tell you. I really really felt rushed out after surgery....or I think I did, I really dont remember getting back to the hotel and I think that is risky. Since I returned home,no one has contacted me unless I contacted them first and that is only via email, sometimes it's reassuing to hear a voice. -
HI there all, just wondering how long did it take after your first fill to notice a difference? I got 4cc put in the new band today before noon, had seafood chowder and crackers for lunch and could have ate more....The lady that gave me a fill said she only got an air bubble when she tried to see if anything was in my band,so I guess I now have the 4cc's in total. I thought I read somewhere where it may take a couple of days to notice a difference..is that true? For those of you that have not had it done before,it was basically just a tiny pinch, and I have issues with needles. I will not be at nervous at all for my next fill.:nervous

Hi there Gaffer,I'm glad your fill went well, mine is tomorrow morning and I look forward to the full feeling everyone talks about(I need it as will-power has dwindled and I've had a hunger on lately).Hopefully this is a new start for us!:girl_hug:

I am finding really hard not to fall back into old habits in fact I've had a few slip ups already.Messuring a cup of food and things like that got pretty old quick,I wish I was more disiplined then I am.Now I'm starting to see the scales creep up again and I go to bed every day vowing to do better tomorrow....sounds like the good ole days!:faint: Hopefully a fill will help,I'm hoping for an appointment later in March.

Where in Nova Scotia are the support meetings Mandi? What's the date?Hmmm,I wonder if I could incorporate my first fill on the same date. Will you plan on going to the meeting?

I agree we were all very nervous and that's very normal. The week before my surgery I needed paper work filled out by my family Doctor and in his waiting room was a lady approx 15 years older then myself, she had an oxgen tank strapped to her and walked very slowly with a cain.I'm not sure if the fact she was quite overweight caused either condition but at the very least it was contributing to her struggle now. This vision helped me durring the following week be very confident that the lapband was something I needed to be healthy and certainly eased my jitters.:nervous

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Wow that's great news regarding your fill (for me too)was it hard to find her? I thought she said she was in Pictou area, not sure though.Did you end up with the amount you had before in the band or is it less? I PBed twice this weekend b/c I was too hungry and eating too fast, hated the experience enough that I will chew even longer to avoid it, but it does make me wonder about what a fill will be like.hmmmm, guess I was too confident or something,I will learn.
-
thanks Doddie I'll give both those thoughts a try.
-
Wow that's interesting and I'm envious,I feel no restriction at all,and am quite hungry...bad combination.

Increased Libodo, anyone else?
Astrotoes replied to halloween2124's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow Lapbandit just noticed your weight loss, that's incredible:clap2: :clap2: any hints to share?? -
Loriely, that is exactly where my gallbladder pain is,and yes I went to emerg once thinking there was something wrong with my heart but they said it was gallbladder:o, Good luck and I really hope it clears up for you.I think I read somewhere that it was not uncommon for people who start to lose a significant amout of weight with the band to experience this.

God luck with the fill Mandi, I'm anxious to hear how it all goes in N.S.:nervous Has she been doing fills long?
