I can't wait until I earn my wings!!!! Right now, I still have my huge, hamhock arms :-/ I am 6 days post-op and will use you ladies as my inspiration. Great job to all of you in losing the weight, getting healthy and keeping a sense of humor throughout! These kinds of posts give me hope about this process. :-)

I am 6 days out and am finding I too can get by on VERY little food. But, I know that there is a period of time before the first fill where I have no restriction (and maybe my first fill won't do the trick). I had a great prep program that really helped me understand that this was coming. So, I am counting points via Weight Watchers (once I'm actually eating enough food to count!) so that, when I get back to the "eat anything I want" phase, I have some limits on it and I can still lose some weight. I am looking to use all and any tools in my toolbox to help me get healthy! Good luck on your journey... we are both at the beginning of this! It's very exciting :-)

The squeaky wheels, unfortunately, tend to get the oil. I would vehemently demand a proper reschedule date (i.e. within 2 weeks). I would tell them it would be highly irresponsible to make you wait so long for your appointment, especially considering they cancelled and fill appointments don't take that long (so I hear, I haven't had one yet -- I'm only 6 days pos-op). I would totally be upset if I was you because I anxiously await every appointment that gets me closer to where I need to be in this "band" journey. Good luck!

embarassing question
waterwish replied to JerseyGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you took the Xray test post op to see how the liquids go down your stomach, then yes, this is normal per my nurse. The stuff you drink for the test (forgot the name, but it's similar to Barium) does that. However, I think if it persists throughout the day, you should absolutely contact your dr. anyway to be on the safe side. Always better to be safe than sorry!! Good luck!!! :-) -
emotional breakdown!
waterwish replied to TylerAshton567's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are going through a signficant, positive change in your life by getting banded. I think that this journey will be so much happier and healthier for you if you were with someone who supports you. I think you feel stuck, having been with this person possibly a long time, and certainly since you are engaged. But, you are never stuck! You are always in charge of your life and no one, I'm sure, would judge you if you took a break from this engagement to focus on yourself and your needs. He just doesn't seem kind to you based on this post. I hope it gets better, and wish you the best!! -
Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
waterwish replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is all so amazing and inspiring!!! In my 3 month prep-program, most people were getting bypass and I feel like I was given so much negativity by the people in and running the program. It was like they were pushing bypass on me, although I was convinced I would do the band for safety reasons. I am so glad I stuck to my decision because I can see here that you all lost 100+ without doing something as invasive as bypass. I was banded two days ago and hope to join this list one day! Thank you all for this list and your willingness to share your stories. I hope to share more of mine soon! -
When will the weight come off?
waterwish replied to donnalemaster's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That sucks, but at least you have an answer now!! It must have felt awful to not know what was going on when you seemed to be doing so much right. Good luck with the surgery to fix this! -
I had my surgery on Wed and yesterday I had the killer shoulder and neck pain from the gas. Walking around really helps to expel the gas. I am having up & down moments --- my pain medication does help though. Good luck on your journey!! I hope all of us newly banded members have the success that so many on this site have had. It's been great looking through here and seeing all of you doing so well while having normal struggles! It definitely gives me hope because I was feeling pretty scared! :-)
