Am I drinking to much Water

From what I've been told, this is excellent advice. Seek your Doc's advice...... -
Best wishes. Hope all turns out ok.

I can't believe this!
dits4golf replied to Byebyeband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your Dos sounds like a wise person. Most folks don't understand that the 'band' is only a tool. Still requires willpower. -
Everything is ok in moderation. Check ( sign up ) fitday.com. You can find out cals, carbs, etc. for most any food. I sometimes have 4 oz. cooked pasta with sauce. Goes down easy & not that many cals.

?? about protein powder and side effects
dits4golf replied to JAM2YOU's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been lead to believe that protein will cause constipation. You should discuss with Doc. -

Does decaffeinated tea count as water?

Does decaffeinated tea count as water?
dits4golf replied to kab1278's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to read of your physical problem. I agree that plain old Water doesn't hack it in your case. The point I was trying to make is that counting Soup as water taken in is ludicrous. And, anything mixed w/water has cals. Just wanted to make people aware that the cals. in gatorade, coffee, tea, etc. should be counted. I'm a golfer who plays by the rules. Can u tell? Lol.....That's all folks. -

I suggest u check fitday.com or myfitnesspal.com. One should check facts before making a statement. -
Does decaffeinated tea count as water?
dits4golf replied to kab1278's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everything one mixes with water has cals. Ice tea, coffee, soup, etc. Water is the only thing with ZERO cals. I'm not trying to be a purist, but water is water. -
Question about Slime or Sliming...
dits4golf replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At the first sign of 'slimming', I usually excuse my self and take a short walk, maybe towards the rest room. Walking seems to help get the 'slime' thru. The hot liquid idea also helps relax the 'band' area relax. -

When they say water, they mean water. If u r going to cut corners, u may as well give up, 'cause u r not ready to take losing weight seriously. -

should i get another fill or wait to my next appointment
dits4golf replied to btorres0698's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If u r still losing weight, stay where u r. Fill only if static or gaining. Listen 2 your body. My Pop use to say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I'm losing approx 1/2 # per week & haven't had a fill in 6 mos. -
It's all about calories folks. 1 c/pasta has a lot more cals. than 1c/asparagus. Guidline should be cals., not size.

If u say he's a well known bariatric surgeon, then u should trust him. I'm sure he's not going to do anything that will be harmful. Believe me, this venture takes a lot of patience. Trust your doctor as mush as u trust yourself. If u don't trust yourself, it's time to get another dr.

Eating Out Giuide?
dits4golf replied to shanrich96's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fish is never a problem. Have 'stuck' problems w/ chicken breast, stringy beef, pork. Mild problems w/scrambled eggs. Over easy ok. No problems with most veggies if not stringy. Salads ok too. You'll just have to experiment. Trick?: sip something hot ( coffee, etc) just before eating. Seems to relax muscles around 'band.' Best wishes..... -
Dr Refuses to Fill two in row -- yelled at me and said not to tell him how to practice medicine when i asked how much he was filling

How many calories a day?
dits4golf replied to GipsyGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My experience is that the more, the more cals u can get away with. Initially, on a 1200 +/- cals/day, I was losing 2#/week. Now that I'm near my goal, I'm losing approx. 1/2 # per week. Remember, muscle is a lot harder to lose than is fat. Don't get to wrapped up in weight loose as long as u don't gain. -

I too eat a lot more than recommended & have lost 77#. However, I do use fitday.com to track caleries, etc. And, I use a food scale religiously. I.e. keep main course foods to 4-6 oz., eat & love salads ( 1 cup ). One must change their mind set & one will be successful.
