Hello everyone, I got banded on Jan 19th and got my first fill on Feb 14th - 1cc fill - not sure what capacity my band is though, must ask the next visit, but I did not have a lot of restriction from about 10 days after my surgery. Now, I do feel it - but not hugely, however, I am losing weight steadily due to better food choices. I eat lots of proteins and only when hungry - which right now happens about 6 hrs after the last meal.. The fill itself was a breeze - I didn't need to be numbed or anything. I did have to stay and drink 2 glasses of water before leaving, but that was fine. I think its really strange that all the doctors give different instructions on what to do after surgery and fills... maybe it depends on the person too.. My goal is to lose about 8-10 pounds per month and I am well on track for that right now..

3 days post op I was NOT ready for work and I am at a desk all day. I was very tired probably because I couldn't sleep very well. (I always slept on my stomach but now thats not possible!) I went back after 10 days and felt ok then. No-one at work knows why I was out sick - it was a tummy bug as far as the kids and work colleagues are concerned. Only my hubby and my doctor know I had this done..

Hi everyone, well now its official!! I was banded on 1/19 - I flew to Dublin, landed at 8.20am, had surgery at 11am, and flew home yesterday at 1.30pm. Can't believe its all over. Not really sore or anything - maybe thats the pain killers:) . I do seem to have rather large bruises around the port area - anyone else have this? I am on liquids for 4 days, followed by mushies for 2 weeks, but right now, its hard work getting more than a couple of swallows of water at a time. I was told that there was 3ml put into my band during surgery. I was terrified a few days before the op - really morbid and thinking about what would happen if I didn't get through it - complete nonsense really, but from what i've read on this forum, completely understandable too. Now I could not be happier. Kids think mom has a tummy bug and are being real helpful If I didn't have this forum, I seriously think I would have chickened out! Good luck to my 5 other same day same clinic bandsters - thinking of you all - hope you are all doing well too. For anyone out there scared of this - yeah be scared - but do it anyway! Its really liberating :clap2:

Hello again - now I may be going nuts but last night I woke up in a cold sweat thinking about how my kids and husband would be if everything does not go well on friday. I am freaking out at this stage, and the worst part is that I haven't told anyone other than my husband. I even got to the point of writing letters to each of them telling them how much I care, and how sorry I am etc etc... just in case. It took me hours to calm down and relax enough to go back to sleep. I came downstairs and started reading all the posts in here - so encouraging and supportive:) and totally responsible for the calming effect - I think if it had not been for this forum I would have chickened out at this stage! Did anyone else feel like this? I talked to my husband about it this evening and hes very supportive and reassuring, but I can't help worrying! I guess I just have to have trust in God at this stage - my surgeon is very experienced and has done over 1000 lap bands, and even trains other doctors on the technique, but my head is not listening to logic at this point. I just can't wait to wake up after surgery on friday and phone home!
