  1. I was banded 2/17/11 by a single incision through the navel. My incision site looks like pure crap 3 weeks later, it hurts, I can't stand for even my clothes to touch it. I still have swelling and it's driving me up the wall. I have lost a total of 10 pounds so far but you can't tell it from the swelling. I go back to my doctor tomorrow. I was even running fever at night the first week I had it done. I went to my primary care doctor and she put me on Bactrim just to be on the safe side. Fever has subsided but pain is still bad. However, the pain is ONLY due to the incision site. Let me know if you find out anything else. You can email me at burd1tt@aol.com.

    Weight Loss

I had the lap band procedure 12 days ago and have lost 10 pounds. However, the 10 pounds was lost the first 6 days and now I seem stuck. Is this normal? I haven't started walking yet because my stomach is still swollen and I'm still on the weak side. What else can I do? I truly want to be one of the success stories!!

    I'm New Here--banded 2/17

I got banded the same day! I had mine done in Atlanta, GA by Dr. Johnson with Atlanta Bariatrics. I weighed 224 pounds. I was able to get insurance to cover it because I also have high blood pressure and diabetes. I had to go through a 6 month program before insurance would approve but it was worth it. I have lost 8 pounds so far. I will be starting soft foods tomorrow and can't wait. I have been drinking the Bariatric Advantage Protein drinks, which are awesome. I tried the unjury but didn't like that brand at all. I'm still extremely sore, especially around the incision site. I have a clerical job and I came back to work today but I'm only working 1/2 days the rest of the week. I"m hoping to lose at least 90 pounds. Have you had any complications so far? Are you hungry? I am but it doesn't last long after I drink some of my protein drink. My stomach is growling constantly. I can't wait for that to stop.
  4. I just had the Gastric Lap Band procedure done last week at Emory/Johns Creek Hospital in Johns Creek, GA. My doctor is Dr. Johnson with Atlanta Bariatrics, also in Johns Creek, Ga. So far the experience hasn't been too bad. I came back to work today, but will only do 1/2 days the rest of the week. I'm still sore. For some reason I have been running a fever of 100.5, mainly at night, but tylenol takes care of that. I have checked for infection around my incision and there does not seem to be one so I'm not exactly sure why I'm running fever. I do have to day though, I'm ready to start eating soft, moist meats and soft vegetables starting tomorrow. I purchased the Bariatric Advantage Protein shakes and they taste pretty good, especially the banana. I tried powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury but didn't like it at al. Right now I'm just looking for advice, support and RECIPES!
