Thanks Joyce! Love the avatar, we raised Great Danes when I was growing up so Scooby Doo is like part of the family. Thanks again!

I just want to say I am sorry for your loss. My dad died from cancer and I was with him everyday and was holding his hand when he passed. I didn't want him to go but loved him enough that I was glad he was no longer in pain. I will say a prayer that God gives you peace.

Thanks y'all!! She is a sweetie, she laughs and has the biggest smile. She is my first grandchild and I couldn't be more proud!

Hope everyone is doing good, I am stuck at 193, but I hope it will change soon, it is so strange how we can not lose weight but our body changes , pants getting bigger, bras getting bigger, but no pounds gone. I will take it, don't get me wrong, lol . But it is just strange, anyone else doing this too?

Has Anyone's Port Moved?
Luvbnanurse replied to soulsis78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope I made myself clear, I don't mean your actual stomach moves but the skin moves when you lay down, but I would still ask my doctor, but mine just laughed and said it can't move like I thought it did, because standing up my scar is below where my port is. Sometimes when I say something it doesn't come out like what I am thinking, lol. -
Thanks so much, I just love her to death and I want to save a copy of this in her scrapbook,so I want her to win. But I may be a bit biased, lol

Has Anyone's Port Moved?
Luvbnanurse replied to soulsis78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are normal, I thought the same thing then my husband told me :"You are laying down when you get your fill, your stomach moves". I don't know this to be a medical fact but it makes sense. I asked my doctor about it was the reason why we were talking about it and he just laughed, he said no it doesn't move but didnt say anything else , he pulled me up to make me drink. Hope it helps, but I too thought the same thing. -

No blood pressure meds, fitting into booths, fitting into clothes from places I couldn't shop before, not stuffing my face till I am miserable, people not recognizing me, more energy, fitting in my tanning bed and not being squished. Seat belt in my Titan not digging in the side of my butt, getting in the boat without worrying I am going to make it wop sided. Wearing a bathing suit at the boat dock and not worrying who is making jokes. I could go on and on but I think you get my drift, lol -
Was anyone banded in December of '06?
Luvbnanurse replied to thebionicbroad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on the same day as you were Emmy and it is going real slow for me now too, if there is something out there to speed us up I would love to hear it too! -
Banded 30 days and feel like a failure
Luvbnanurse replied to finallythin@34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained 4 pounds by the time I was where you are now, you are doing fine. It is not about losing for the first 6 weeks it is about healing, you don't have a fill, and probably won't feel alot after tomorrow either. Weight loss will come, congrats on your surgery and it is never to late with the band if you feel like you screw up, get up dust your self off and start again, we all screw up, we all get right back on and go again. Good luck! -

Can you ever drink through a straw again?
Luvbnanurse replied to Maurdan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't know we couldn't,lol I have been doing it since day 1 I guess. I don't have any problem with it, as far as I know. Just shows the difference in doctors I guess, if he told me I must have missed it. I asked my husband, he has been with me at every appointment and he didnt remember either but he thinks I am full of hot air but I was before surgery, lol. -
HI Laura! Welcome!!

I have had a few people I have known for years, not recognize me to the point I had to tell one of them, (my ex mother in law for 15 years) who I was! That has been kinda cool, it tickled me really. It was funny yesterday one of my old friends who has had bypass surgery and I were passing each other her getting out of her car and me getting in mine and we realized at the same time who the other one was we both didn't recognize the other one! The only thing that gets me is I don't see alot of difference but I think that is true of alot of us.

I married the best friend I have ever had and he is also the most romantic man I have ever known , so I guess it is the best of both worlds.

Was anyone banded in December of '06?
Luvbnanurse replied to thebionicbroad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad to see everyone again, was wondering if December people would ever post again. I am doing ok , could be better if I would get off my lazy butt. Have hit some plateaus , not real fond of them but when they break I lose but it is slow. I have gone from a 22-24 to a 14, actually fit in a size 12 Levi capris the other day, that was a milestone, lol. I have had a handful of people I haven't seen since December actually not recognize me and that has been kinda fun, one was my ex mother in law and I was married to her son for 15 years! A couple were people I worked with for years and I had to walk up close and speak to them before they knew me. Glad to see everyone posting again! -
Congratulations!

Glad to hear you are doing well, welcome band sista!

Hi Tengal! Welcome! My husband is from Fayetteville(right next to you), but we live in Columbia now. I have been banded since Dec ,06 and my health issues have improved immensly. I no longer have high blood pressure and I had severe asthma and it is almost non existant now, have problems every now and then but nothing like before. I can walk alot farther and actually enjoy it. It is not easy, but it is so worth it. I would do it again.

Hi all, well I suck, gained 4 pounds, but doc said it is from having surgery last week. I had been real sick with bronchitis and had been coughing real bad and was worried about a slip because I got real restricted even before surgery, so I asked the doc and he said coughing can sometimes cause it and swelling on top of it didn't help. So he took out .2cc and I am on liquids for a couple days, and maybe I can eat food instead of junk now. Good luck everyone!!
-
Well congrats laurend!!, I know it has been a long time coming for you, I have followed your posts since coming here and I am tickled it is finally happening for you! The liquid diet is rough but you can get through it,at night I would just go to sleep early because it was my hardest time. You will do fine you have wanted this for so long, congrats again!
