Was anyone banded in December of '06?
Luvbnanurse replied to thebionicbroad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have lost a total of 87 pounds, and kinda am really slow going now . I started nursing school and it is alot of work no time for planning meals and exercising right but maybe after I get used to it it will be better. But I have said all along if I didnt lose another pound I am thankful for how far I have come. -
That would be one for your doctor to say when you are ready for the weight lifting,I went back to work after 3 weeks and my job included lifting and I strained my stomach at first but once your body has healed weightlifting is a wonderful way to lose weight and joining a gym is great! But I would ask your doctor when is a good time to start, good luck!

HI Barbara and welcome to LBT , I have asthma and took prednisone too and blew up, well since I have lost weight the asthma has all but disappeared and havent taken anything like prednisone or antibiotics or anything since Dec 06 and I used to have to take it all the time. Blood pressure meds are gone too. I m not a vegetarian . Good luck and welcome!

jetti, I always wanted to be a nurse, I turned 45 this month and just started nursing school, it is gonna be a challenge but since lap band has changed my life I feel like I can change my whole world, looking forward to being a whole different person, Good Luck and if I can do it anyone can! -
Congrats to you Readyforit! Keep plugging on and don't give up no matter what, waiting can be frustrating but just keep you eye on the goal and sooner than you think it will be time for surgery! Good luck hun!!!!!

HI MissDarlene!! :welcomeB: !!!!!

I have had the same problem with my eyes, I am old too,lol I just turned 45 the other day. I never have a problem with my eyes but the eye strain from reading all the time is giving me terrible headaches too, I have started wearing reading glasses but they are hard to get used to as long as I keep my eyes on the book I am fine but cant look away too fast or I feel drunk. I have a new grandbaby too and I was keeping her everyday before school started but now there is no way I have to be able to concentrate and a baby in the room isnt going to work. The stress of school is hard enough, iof you take on too much you will crash and burn, you raised your kids let them raise theirs is my way of thinking, I love to keep her but I have to pass or lose my scholarship so I gotta take care of me. Hope everything gets better for you but you have to make that happen.

I just started nursing school too and I know what you mean, but I went to a workshop on master students and one of the first things the teacher said was you have to sit down with your family and tell them "I will now be in school and I will not have time for anything else" They will be fine, it is something you have to do for you. If they get mad, so be it, they will get over it. Just say no, you can't do it all and pass school, good luck in school !

Hi Emmy , we were banded on the same day and we do the same thing, lose and gain the same 1 1/2 pounds forever then all of the sudden lose 5 . But I will take it anyway I can get it,lol . I still have about 20 pounds to lose and it will take awhile but I can wait, it took me years to gain it I guess I can take awhile to lose it too.Good luck and nice to know there is someone else that loses the same way I do. -
Hi Wendy! I was in Fayetteville this weekend, my in laws live out on Howell Hill Rd. We went to Trotters to eat, nice place. Glad to have you on LBT and good luck on your journey!

Intense Dreams Since Banding 1 Week Ago
Luvbnanurse replied to wclark1215's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

25 months later..3 weeks with an unfilled band....
Luvbnanurse replied to CRISTAN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Too tight is the most awful feeling, I have been there too, I probably need a fill now but it is much nicer to eat healthy than nothing at all, it slowed me down as far as weight loss but I just want to lose about 20 more so I will go slow, it isnt a race and I like the fact i dont have that awful feeling anymore. I am glad you are doing better and the weight you have already lost is amazing! -
jsrico, thanks for the encouragement ! I am in onederland though been in 190s too long trying to get to 180s, I'll get to the 180s though....someday,lol
-
Well I am still here, I am about 190 depending on the day, cant seem to get to 180s but I'll get there, everyone is doing great !
-
In my case , stress is really bad for me I get so tight I always wonder if there is something really bad wrong but when I finally calm down I go back to normal, or as normal as I can be,lol

I'm a newbie with LOTS of questions!
Luvbnanurse replied to want2bmeagain's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok I will try to answer what I can, my take on them anyway, everyone is different though. I cook for the family and make things we both can eat sometimes it means making 2 types of meat but most of the time after you figure out what is band friendly with you you can make meals that you both can eat but I will admit sometimes it is a challenge. Coffee- I drink coffee everyday, no problems with it and Dr has no problem with me doing it. Most of the time when you get something stuck it isnt an emergency situation, it is a bathroom situation or a wait to pass situation, you will either throw it up or wait for it to go down. I think it is rare to have to have an emergency unfill for something being stuck, never known anyone to have to go have an unfill for being stuck. I have had a small unfill for being too tight, but it wasnt an emergency situation but if you have to travel I would be slow on getting fills as to know I wasnt going to get too tight and have to go right back. Some doctors in america will do fills for people banded in Mexico maybe you can find one close. Good luck! This is just my take on stuff , everyone is different though so take any advice with that knowledge. -
