I think I would say WAIT, because I am a food addict, and I would want to get in one last free for all. But....... what would you tell an alcoholic considering rehab before the holidays? The big issue is that when you do it, you have to commit, and if you know that committment isn't possible for you until after the holidays, then WAIT. I think the band works the best for those who are desperate for change, but I can't honestly say that I would have done it during the holidays :lie:. ("They're tryin' to make me go to rehab, but I say no,no,no...")

You are posting on the "Life After Lapband REMOVAL" topic. Change to Lapband Support or General Discussion and you will get more help.

I wasn't planning on posting my Sex Movies, but since everyone else is doing it ...

Marjon, how cleverly controversial you are.:decision: -
Honestly, that's why I think someone like Rudy Guiliani is "inexplicably" doing well in the polls. He has chosen the Republican party, but also clearly supports some rights championed by the Democrats. He probably represents the views of more common person Republicans than the party wants to admit. I am not saying I am pro-Guiliani, I am just using him as an example. Also, another thing I say sometimes is that I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I vote for Republican and Democratic candidates about on an equal basis, sometimes not only regarding issues but more importantly how astute, smart, and effective a leader they will be. (Yes, I know Hitler was astute, smart, and effective; you guys know what I mean.)
-
I get around all that by saying I am a liberal Republican or a conservative Democrat. Confuses 'em every time, but it really does describe the way I feel most of the time.

Going out to eat is great! Just ask for a To Go box and you'll get to enjoy it 2 or 3 more times.:hungry: -
I had my first drink, wine, at 6 weeks, no problem.

Question on Precertification
nataliec replied to stefgray's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely would cover all my bases and call your ins co. But... if this is the federal govt. ins. I am pretty sure they are required to cover you by law if you meet the prerequisites.:faint: -
When I clicked on the site I knew immediately what it was. Perceptive. But I'd rather not be cookied to this site.

OK, Laurend, educate me on this FAQ section of the threads. Ignorant again, as I don't know how this works. P.S. I am likely to be old enough to be your mother, so be patient with me. I agree that if you click on it now, you are on your own, but the only responses when I logged on were about how weird the site was. I wanted to know what was so weird, cause a lot of the time I like weird.:embarassed:
-
P.S. I am not religious, conservative, or Republican. I also totally support your right to discuss anything you like.

I know the more sophisticated among us may be familiar with the term "Boylove." As I said, some, including me (a summa cum laude graduate of a major dental school-not to brag-just explaining my education status) may be a bit ignorant of the term because of limited exposure, so to say. It honestly didn't "click" with me until I clicked on the link. And I don't think I am the only one. I am just pro fair and adequate warning, not censorship.:peace:

This post is inappropriate because it does not adequately describe the content of the website unless one clicks (perhaps ignorantly) on the link. This is a website closely monitored by the FBI for child predators. Even a XXX warning is not enough, for activity between consenting adults is perfectly acceptable in every way to me, and I may choose to venture there. XXX does not describe this subject matter. I do not choose for my computer to eat these cookies and PB the spam into my email.

Mine is still sore 6 weeks post op.

I first heard about the lap-band from former classmate of my husband's in pharmacy school. We were only acquaintances, but when I asked her how she was losing weight, she opened up to me completely. I was so glad she did because banding is changing my life. I have decided now to endure whatever judgements people might have of me (I've not encountered any yet.) to be able to share my experience. You never know when your openness can have an impact on someone's life.

how sloooooow do you have to eat and chew for real?
nataliec replied to rachelmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doc tells me to chew until it is liquid and will almost go down your throat without having to swallow. He says even a paste consistency may be too thick.:gluck: -
Actually, since you have minimal restriction, with no (or maybe one) fill, you have lost a lot of weight in 5 weeks. Generally good weight loss is considered 2 lbs per week when you have good restriction.:welldoneclap:

I know. I had to do a little backtracking to check the dates.

Wheetsin was banded 3-06. This is an OLD thread.:welldoneclap:

After planning and researching and talking about it for so long, it does seem surreal when you realize it really is going to happen.:dizzy:

A PB is a productive burp. This means you are regurgitating the overload of your pouch and esophagus. In a PB the food hasn't entered through the band into the lower stomach so it really isn't digested very much, just mixed with a lot of saliva from your mouth and esophagus. PB's do require the reverse motion of the stomach and esophagus hence are not very good for the continued correct positioning of the band.

I need your support... Please say a prayer for me :)
nataliec replied to Desiree1970's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In weighing the risks and benefits of the surgery, I came to the realization that this was God's will for my life. Hence I knew that I would have a better chance of surviving the surgery than surviving without it.
