    And now the failing begins?

Hello, yes it is okay to vent and also have those days, we have all had those days in the past, but focus on what is important now and in front of you! Remember the band is just a tool! Not a magic wand and bang its all better. Look at your meals, seriously before you eat it. Somone yesterday told me her trainer told her to take a picture of her meal or anything she was going to eat before she ate it and then at the end of the day to look at it. She was totoally surprised about what she did eat and didn't even realize it. I am still on full liquids but i still stop and look at what i am going to eat (or drink in my case) so i can train my self to be conscience of what i am choosing to put in my body. You have a lot of support here in the forum and i'm sure a support group where you live, don't let fear get the best of you, FOCUS and you will suceed!
  2. Greetings! I was just banded on Feb 17th! I have poked around this site for the last 3 months and now decided to join and not only share my story but also hopefully get some good ideas for the next steps to come! I started this process 6 months ago and completed it all within 6 months; Althought i hear i am not the norm considering i have an HMO (BSHMO), i feel everything was meant to be and the path was layed out for me. So now next steps..... I have read that some have been having bad gas or nausea and I can say i have not had any! I started the 2nd full liquid food phase on Saturday and it's been great. i'm not hungry at all. I over all feel well although i feel like my one incision is like a bruised rib! Maybe i had a boxing match with someone! lol . Is this normal? So far i have lost 17lbs since i started the liquid Protein diet 10 days before the surgery. My doctors at California Bariatrica & General Surgery (Dr. Doraiswamy) was AMAZING!!!! I had my procedure done at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia. So what can i expect next..... Any words of wisdom!?!?!?

    Banded on 2817/11

I am one week since surgery and i feel really good! My "bruised rib" feeling is starting to subside and i can sleep "carefully' now on both sides, which is nice. I have been keeping up with my walking. My post op appointment is on Friday March 4th so I hope that I can move on to stage two too!! On Monday is the first support group meeting and i am definately planning on going. Hey "SkinnyBitch2B" March will be here before you know it!! As much as i've read that the Protein drinks are bad, the one's i drank were not. I drank Pur Protein, I found them at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and Traders joes. strawberry, chocolate and even the vanilla were all tasty. Rhya2k - please let me know how State 2 is? I can hardly wait, but i'm a little worried about purred meats! LOL Have a fabulous weekend all!

    Banded on 2817/11

Hello All, Yes, it has been an awesome experience! I feel very blessed to not have any of the discomforts others have expressed. I best recommodation is follow doctors orders!! I am able to eat strained cream Soups, cream of wheat (fills me up to fast), and FF puddings and yogarts. I feel i do need to keep my Protein intake up so i also have 3x a day 8 oz of Isopure. It's a clear Protein Drink that comes in many flavors, so it is much easier to drink (kinda tastes like punch) and get me the protien my body needs. Its a little pricey but i look at it as money i would have spend on a lunch, before i was banded! So it's worth the $3.00 per bottle for the taste. I am finding this stage really easy. Pain, well the only pain i truly have is from the one incision that is about 1 inch on the left side, below the breast which is where they put the band in. The best way to expain it is like having a bruised rib. So it's painful to get up from bed, so i roll out of bed! lol and also i avoid sleeping on that side. But each day it gets alittle better, like a bruise, healing. Also i sleep with one of those pillows like a bean bag, and it totaly helps! Since it is plyable it moves and confroms to my body soo that i don't irriate it with the blankets and stuff. I also used it when i left the hoptial and it was perfect for the ride home. I can't believe i waited so long to do this. Its so much easier than i thought. i don't let the negative thoughts or fears "i can't do it' even enter my mind. I also surrounded myself with a good solid support system. My closest friends came and stayed with me for 4 days 24 hours a day and they were fantastic. Making sure i eat, drink, sleep and WALK when i am suppose to! Today was my first day alone and it was good. Good luck all on your banding on Tuesday! WHOOHOOO and March 31st will be here before you know it! Trust me, when your down to the stretch it goes by quickly.
