was up last might until five thirty am with bile and saliva coming jup in My throat every time i tried to doze off. I'm so so sick of dealing with these surprise lap band attacks.
-
I'm seeing my surgeon June first at which point we will make a decision about whether to revise our not.
-
I also know two people who nearly died from rny. One from infection, the other hemmoraged during the operation.so I'm freaked a little.
-
my doc told me risks of leaks are five times higher when deciding as opposed to doing any first time around. I also have small kids and little support system and as husband who is supportive but works in a grocery doc says a week until at least 8. I chose the band at first due to the short recovery time. I dunno how I'll manage a household after an rny.
-
after three years and having tried everything the doc said if things don't improve this month the band has to come out and we're gonna do a revision to rny. im terrified of having my insides rearranged like that.and if the increased risk of complications and longer recovery...but i can ny stay like this either.i could use some encouragement.were gonna do it a year ago but the doc decided to empty the band and give it one more shot. it works for a while but now problems are back.im 28.

I had my banding done in august. i lost about 30 lbs but thats counting the weight i lost before the surgery on the preop diet. i am getting so frustrated with how slowly the weight is coming off. i know it isn't supposed to come off as quickly as with a bypass but its maddening to not see significant changes. anyone else have this kind of frustration? how do you deal with it?

thanx. i have an appointment to see my surgeon next week. i may need a fill as my weight loss has stalled and i'm hungrier than i was.
-
thanx. that calms me down alot. been trying to reach the surgeon for a checkup to be sure but it turns out he's away for pres day so i gotta wait.

ive been trying to reach my surgeon but he's away for presidents day weekend, so i'll have to wait i guess. i always thought banana was supposed to be an easy band food. its mushy after all.shows what i know i want to have agi done to be safe but part of me is scared to see what they find, because the vomiting was so vicious and lasted a few days and that friday episode was so painful....i'm what iffing myself crazy . getting this band was such an ordeal and then i developed a post op infection which took more than a month to kill and this past month the weight loss has stalled and now this.... -

thanxi i'll do that. not sure if its relevant but ealier today i ate a banana and i got that "rising bubbles" sensation. -
I wrote in another thread that after a violent stomach virus, on friday i was in alot of pain, couldn't swallow Water, was light headed andall in all felt like a classic slippage case except that the symptoms dissapeared spontaniously. well i just ate my supper, i ate one plain burger patty and a tablespoon of baked potato and i now have a dull ache in the chest and i'm feeling lightheaded again. HELP! am i in danger or what?

does anyone have any words of wisdom? i am very scared!

Stomach Virus + Band = NO FUN!
chavawava replied to gotmyeyeontheprize's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
question. I may have had a stomach virus last week, vomiting very violently and on friday i had what your doc described as signs of a slippage. sharp pain in my chest and back, lightheadedness, couldn't hold down anything, even water....i was starting to panic when all of a sudden it stopped. the pain was gone, the food and water went down fine and i have had no problems ever since. could a slippage have corrected itself spontaneously? -
I'm 6 months post op. the last month i have been vomiting more often and occassionally it was really bad. this past firday i was vimiting very violently i felt like i was gonna pop the band. it hurt to breathe, i was lightheaded and i wa in a lot of pain, (just a side note my 7 year old had been up vomiting thursday night so i dunno if i caught something from her) then very siddenly it was gone and i have been feeling fine ever since, except that when i eat bananas i have the "rising bubbles" sensation. but no pain, nausea or burping as i had been having friday or to a lesser extent the weeks before. ciould this be a slip? if it is would the symptoms have passed alone? if it wasn't, could that violent painful vomiting have caused a slip? im scared silly now.
