You should go. There's a lot of things to do in Hawaii that don't require a lot of activity. Just being there is so wonderful, seeing the flowers and smelling the sweet air. Seeing volcanoes, Pearl Harbor, luaus, jungle, so much to see. You'll love it.

Well, I stayed on liquids yesterday. Breakfast was fine, eggs went down normally. Had about 3-4 oz of Teriyaki chicken breast for lunch and boy things slowed down. I finally needed to chew, chew, chew and eat slowly. I could feel the Chicken going down and staying there a while, but I didn't get stuck. Then I waited and drank some V8 and could feel it going down. So, is this restriction finally? Feels very different now.

I had my third fill today, 7. ccs. Dr told me to stay on liquids today. Water going down fine. Shake a little slower and more filling now. Tried some Greek yogurt and it won't down. I'll give it more time. Might swell up more. Only been a couple of hours.

Breakfast ideas for someone who doesn't like eggs?
bobrocky replied to Marla290's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Some good ideas here. I just Lund that Kashi has a few high protein dry cereals. I think they have 9 grams of protein and they taste great. Easy breakfast. Fr different types of egg breakfast there's the jimmy dean sausage crumbles that make a great omelette. Aso soychizo is a soy chorizo that spices up the eggs. -
If you have Cigna...
bobrocky replied to skintyprincess's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I was approved in 11 days. Then 6 months to complete all they required. Time goes fast though. Just make sure you keep your monthly appointments with the dr or you have to start over. -

Vertigo - any other banders diagnosed?
bobrocky replied to SageTracey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have Menieres disease and used to have a lot of vertigo. For me, salt and caffeine bring it on so I'm careful to monitor those. If I feel the fullness in my ears I pop some antivert and that helps a lot. I have noticed it can start after eating out because they use so much more salt in their food. -

First Fill Flutters.......
bobrocky replied to larpens's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate regularly that day. I thought he'd tell me to stay on liquids, but he told me to eat regularly after the fill. He said he didn't give me a very big fill. I don't have restriction but I can feel my food going down, which is kind of weird. Once I thought it was going to get stuck because the food just sat there a few seconds, but then it went down. ) I wasn't being as careful as I should have been.). He told me to come back for fill #2 in 2 weeks. Every doc is different. -
Lap Band Friendly Restaurants/Meals
bobrocky replied to megananne7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've also found Mexican food to be good. 1 enchilada, I ask for extra Beans and no rice. Usually have enough for two meals. Some people can't eat flour tortillas. Corn tortillas seem better. Fish is great. I had some red snapper the other day and it went down easily. Soup is always easy too. -
I was pretty good. Lots of protein choices. I took a couple of chickens I smoked ad shredded. They were good. We will not talk about te cheesecake however.
-
And of course there's a church pot luck tomorrow. Oh, the choices. I must be good.

I can tell I'm less hungry and food is satisfying me longer, but I can still eat anything and don't have to eat as small of bites as I should.

Yes, my pants are getting pretty baggy, shirts not so much. I think I've lst one size in my waist and maybe half a size for shirts.

Did You Feel This Way?
bobrocky replied to sally125's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is good practice time for you. Start eating the small protein filled meals. Chew, chew, chew your food. Cut into small pieces etc. That alone will help. If you get hungry try a string cheese or SF popsicle. That kept me from gaining while waiting for first fill. -
I got my first fill today. I didn't feel anything when he did it. Took just a few minutes. I've lost about 37 lbs and my BMI went down from 53 when I first looked into this, to 48 now. Dr was pleased. He said he didn't put much in and would see me in 2 weeks. I went home and had a Greek yogurt and a little canned chili and I was SO full. That hadn't happened before. Same after dinner. I'm stuffed. He said I could eat regular food, no need to go to liquids or mushies, but wow, this is unexpected. I'm happy though. I have a feeling the next fill will make quite a difference. I'm feeling great. Ths morning 2 lbs just fell off. I think now that the healing is over its staring to work. :-)

Who didnt have gas pain
bobrocky replied to rn2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't really have any gas pains either. Went home the same day as surgery. I got up every hour to walk & keep blood clots away. Seemed to take care of it. It's all been pretty pain free for me.
