Chloe... thanks! Hope you're doing well with your exercising. Talk to you soon

Sally's and my new favourite store... Shoppers Drug Mart! I guess that's better than Dairy Queen... I can hardly wait for a popsicle. This is Tres Chic, signing out until after the big sleep...........

Thanks, Yasmina. Good luck to you on Friday!

Are you having your surgery at TLBC? The Intake Coordinator is lovely.
-
My consultation was a "no-biggie"... I was there less than an hour. My follow up meeting with the doctor was about the same. I had done a lot of research though, so I didn't have very many questions. Good luck, Ari

I live in Toronto, so thankfully, there's no travelling. I have to say, I'm getting pretty nervous now. I'm sleeping about 4 hours a night and having some epic dreams! How about you?

that's the full price

Newbie, preop diet help?
Tres Chic replied to dmmedina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wish I could help. I'm on Day 6 of a 7-day Pre-op. Surgery is this Thursday... The first few days on are the worst. Just keep your eyes on the prize. It's really important to stick with the Pre-op. Good luck. -
OK, that was funny... :faint:

I'll bet you thought Heather had done really well for 1 week, didn't you?

Since my surgery is this Thursday, I'll be happy if, between Pre-op and Post-Op, that I lose the 10 lbs. I gained while waiting for my surgery. Good luck to everyone in February. (Sally, I'm rooting for you, as always).

That might be the cutest baby I've ever seen! (except for mine). I loved the Anne Geddes-esque pic of the baby and the hands too.

I'll be 54 a week after my surgery, which is coming up on Feb 1 !!!

Question about Recovery
Tres Chic replied to lapband4meNOW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some great information in this thread. Thanks for sharing, Kat. Good luck New and Lap. -
b_russel - I sure am. I have a friend who was banded a week ago, and she's given me some great tips. For example, get some straws to drink with so that you don't take in extra air and add to the gas pain. And buy Gas-X strips that dissolve on your tongue. She said they were lifesavers. Good luck!

Greetings.. I'm scheduled for surgery Feb. 1-07 in Toronto. I'm curious as to how people did with the pre-op diet. Did you stick to it? For how long? If you didn't, were there repercussions? Thanks.. I look forward to joining all of you. Best of luck with your journey. :clap2:

Drinking while eating poll
Tres Chic replied to K@t's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Airwayman's info works for me .. I find drinking a lot of water difficult. It makes me feel bloated, uncomfortable and I don't like the frequent trips to the bathroom, especially at night. I guess we'll have to see what works best as we go along... :nervous -
LIARS! All of you:eek: I've lied more in these past few weeks than in my entire life. Yasmina, stick with the "flu" defense and have a salad.
-
OH MY GOD...there's a visual. Thanks, Yoda!!!:clap2:

Hey Paula: No charge for consultation. It's included in the ridiculously low price of $16,000! The wait is about 4-6 weeks. Mine was longer because I was waffling (mmmm, waffles!) :hungry:
-
Welcome everyone. I'm scheduled for next week, begun Pre-op yesterday. My consultation was way back in November so the wheels had been off for me in the eating department for awhile. I was almost happy to begin Pre-op - It's boring and the carb-withdrawal headaches suck, but it's doable.

I was recently told that you don't have to exercise more often to kick start your metabolism (in fact that can sometimes be counter productive) but you do have to work harder at it. Chloe, try upping the speed on the treadmill or alterante with a little incline so you're working harder. And, one of these days I'm going to do something with my treadmill other than hang clothes on it!!

Suzieq - your story is inspirational, as are your results. It's great to read a cross section of stories; some people at the half way mark, others just beginning their journey. I'm getting very excited.
