  1. Happy 41st Birthday BJLHouston!

  2. Happy 40th Birthday BJLHouston!

  3. I had surgery with Dr. Hollis on 3/30 and a very good friend had surgery with him on Friday (4/8). Both surgeries went great. The pre-op and recovery nurses are nice and helpful. We are both very please with the process so far. I have met Dr. Reilly and would also be comfortable using him.
  4. Congrats! I'm three weeks behind you and ready to go!

    March 2011 Bandsters

Had my initial consultation this morning and I scheduled my surgery for 3/30 with Dr. Hollis at True Results in Houston. Looking forward to it and just wanted to say hi.
  8. After attending a couple of group seminars in mid-February and a True Result support group at the end of February, I had my initial consultation this morning. The consultation went well. I had blood test results from my physician that they were able to use because they are very recent, although there were two other blood tests that they also had to order. My EKG and pulmonary test went well, as did my consult with the nurse practitioner. I am having an endoscopy next week to see if I have a hernia. This will be my fourth endoscopy over the years as a result of my acid reflux. I then have my pre-op appointment on the following Wednesday, and surgery on the 30th! I pushed the surgery out a week because I have company in town for the next two weeks and did not want to be on the pre-op diet the entire time they are here. Otherwise my surgery would have been on the 23rd. Since I'm having surgery on a Wednesday, I'm planning to take the remainder of the week off and return to work the following Monday. I've enjoyed lurking around here for the past few weeks or so, with an occasional post here and there. I'm now ready to get my health in check. Feeling a lot better about myself is just a perk...although it will be a GREAT one! I welcome any comments, including anything else that you think I should know about True Results Houston and/or Dr. Hollis!

I didn't realize there was a chat feature. I guess I will have to try it...some other time!

    Self Pay Loan Options

I'm not sure if it applies to you, but Care Credit does offer extended term financing at 14.9%. Here is the link: Care Credit Extended Payment Plan

    EKG abnormal

Sandy, stay positive. Hopefully this is just a speed bump in your path and not a road block. For the doctor's protection, and your safety, it's best to make sure that you are ok. Now, I have my initial consultation at True Results here in Houston tomorrow. So, if I'm on here complaining about something tomorrow, remind me of what I just told you!

    mad at my dr...

If your doctor is fairly nearby, you could show up at his office and wait. They'll fit you in, particularly if you start telling other patients your story! You don't have to badmouth him, just create small talk about his difficult it is to get an appointment, so you're trying to work with him by waiting for him to be able to see you. The staff won't want the bad publicity for the doc, so they'll get you in to see him! It will require an investment of time from you, but as long as he is actually in the office, I bet you'll get in to see him! Good luck!
  13. Sandy, I'm going for my first one-on-one consultation on Thursday. I believe Care Credit has a 14.9% interest rate. I think True Results offers financing for part of the surgery if you need it, but NewBandit95 is the first that I have seen that implies that the TR financing is out of line. I guess I'll find out soon enough. My employer specifically wrote bariatric surgery out of our policy.
  14. I believe Care Credit's longer term rate is 14.9%, which is lower than mos people's regular credit card rate.
  15. Congratulations on getting your surgery scheduled! I plan to use Dr. Hollis in April. I've heard lots of good things about him. I have my first consultation at True Results next week. Do you mind explaining what you mean by "shocked at their financing options"?
